THE FRIDAY MIXING BOWL

A little of this,a little of that. Some of the usual political stuff and some good things thrown in to make the mix more palatable. Getting a late start,so bear with me. It’s been a long week.

Stay classy, you great big carers, you!

@KagroX (aka, David Waldman) scribbles for Daily Kos.

2014_11 13 Mocking Kraut

@KagroX wasn’t content with being a jerk just one time. He actually elaborated on his theme with:

  • “What is that thing on his shoulders? Is that a human head? Has it been pickled or something? Brined?”

Tweets:

  • Is he making a play to be an adviser on the next Wendy Davis campaign? What a jerk.
  • Can’t argue his intelligence, mock how he looks!
  • Tune in next week and see David Waldman give Greg Abbott a ‘swirlie’ and then steal Stephen Hawking’s lunch money.
  • People like Waldman ooze hatred and contempt for anything outside of their ideological sphere. Sadly, this is neither new nor all that surprising
  • Liberal ideological or Idiot-logical sphere? Same, same.

Leftist eugenics

PSA: Do NOT put glow sticks in microwave

And kids?  Please understand that parents who CARE scream at their kids like this dad did because they CARE.  If this guy were a bad dad, he’d have laughed and taken photos.  Also, his “give me the shirt” was typical manic parent behavior.  I got a call from the ski club director while my kid was still supposed to be on the slopes.  My first words were something inane like, “Are you all having fun?”  I knew in my heart that this call was NOT going to be good news, but I couldn’t quite face it, you know?  Fortunately, Mama Buzz had only sprained, not broken her arm, so that part did turn out good.

What does the RCC teach about divination and magic?

Divination tools

From the Catholic Catechism’s “Divination and magic” section:

2115 God can reveal the future to his prophets or to other saints. Still, a sound Christian attitude consists in putting oneself confidently into the hands of Providence for whatever concerns the future, and giving up all unhealthy curiosity about it. Improvidence, however, can constitute a lack of responsibility.

2116 All forms of divination are to be rejected: recourse to Satan or demons, conjuring up the dead or other practices falsely supposed to “unveil” the future. Consulting horoscopes, astrology, palm reading, interpretation of omens and lots, the phenomena of clairvoyance, and recourse to mediums all conceal a desire for power over time, history, and, in the last analysis, other human beings, as well as a wish to conciliate hidden powers. They contradict the honor, respect, and loving fear that we owe to God alone.

2117 All practices of magic or sorcery, by which one attempts to tame occult powers, so as to place them at one’s service and have a supernatural power over others – even if this were for the sake of restoring their health – are gravely contrary to the virtue of religion. These practices are even more to be condemned when accompanied by the intention of harming someone, or when they have recourse to the intervention of demons. Wearing charms is also reprehensible. Spiritism often implies divination or magical practices; the Church for her part warns the faithful against it. Recourse to so-called traditional cures does not justify either the invocation of evil powers or the exploitation of another’s credulity.

“Life is unfair.” John F. Kennedy (1962)

Pity Party

If nothing else, the appalling “leadership” of the “caring” Obamacrats should have revealed to anyone who is paying attention that “I feel your pain” is a stupid way to run a country.  According to Harvard’s Harvey Mansfield, liberalism is a co-dependent alliance of experts and victims; yet this kind of unhealthy faux compassion has fueled American politics in recent years.  Meanwhile, research has proven that the people most likely to actually care are the people least likely to approve of kind of top-down government programs that Democrats favor.

America waves BYE-BYE to Obamacrat Tyranny

2014_11 12 Pelosi's delusional analysis

Methinks Fancy Nancy got her metaphors mixed. This wasn’t an ocean wave coming in; it was a great big BYE-BYE, DUMBOCRATS, DON’T LET THE DOOR SMACK YOU ON THE BUTT wave.

2011-2014_11 American trust in GOP v Obama

But if you must use a tidal metaphor, I think you’ll need to go with something more drastic than “ebb tide” for what happened to Obamacrats … say red tide or severe drought or something like that. Obama did say that his nomination marked the day the oceans would cease to rise.  ::snort::

The current Democrat party and leadership has been governing against the will of the people not in conjunction with it. Tuesday night Americans said, “Enough.”

There’s no better example of governing against the will of the American people than the “Affordable Care Act”, aka “ObamaCare.” No poll in America ever placed anything near a majority of Americans in favor of the ACA. Some showed as many as 70% against. Americans never wanted this law, never were in favor of it, pleaded with their representatives not to pass it.

In the two elections held since the passing of that law, twenty-five of the Democrat Senators who voted in favor of the “Affordable Care Act” have been handed their walking papers by the American people — with one more very likely to get hers too in December. Talk about toxic.

All of this damage done by lying through your teeth in order to do it? Not a good way to govern and none of it the Republican’s fault nor the fault of obstructionism. In fact, quite the opposite. Republicans and Tea Partiers tried with all their might to stop the Democrats but were powerless to do so.

Democrats, you voted for it. Your problem isn’t that you couldn’t get your agenda through, it’s that you did.

Senator Gruber agrees it’s okay to lie

Cuz voters are stupid and the ends justify the means.

2014_11 11 Maine Senator agrees it's okay to lie

‘Are You Cruel?’ Senator Angus King Loses It on Fox News over Obamacare Video [3:11]

I was going to remark on the paternalistic attitude until I remembered that I didn’t lie to my kids ever, not even when they were toddlers with one syllable vocabularies. I wonder how many of these twerps had parents who did lie to them … A LOT.

Meanwhile, the Left Stream Media has ignored the Gruber story, which is absurd. Journalists used to love nothing better than to zing somebody, anybody, with a candid camera embarrassment. I was surprised to hear that MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski admitted that if it “had it been a Republican, the media would have been exploding.” Has Mika suddenly grown some self-awareness? Hmmm.
