Thanks, Pete, for making me glad once again that my kid doesn’t go to school.
The can’t teach them to read, write, spell, or do basic arithmetic, but they can turn them into a bunch of little parrots who repeat whatever brainless slogan the teachers think up. Aarrgghh!

I have to confess that the scandalous behavior of Alcee Hastings is the article that I read first. I’m ashamed, but honest. I have never heard of a woman named Winsome, but then again, I have never heard of a man named Alcee before, either. Did any of you notice that Ms. Winsome Packer claimed that the 2 years of sexual harassment led her to develop coronary artery disease? I was buying most of it until I read that. Seriously – 2 years of stress can cause coronary artery disease? I guess the entire Tea Party is about to stroke out any day now, so that is why those Boehner/Cantor guys aren’t afraid of us!

Sounds like it’s her word against his, so who knows how it will turn out? Oh, and “Winsome Packer” sounds like the heroine of a Harlequin romance. (Or maybe a football player’s wife.)
I don’t know what to think about the stress-caused coronary artery disease; pretty hard to prove cause and effect there. CAD might run in her family, or it could have been caused by lifestyle factors (diet, smoking, etc.). But if two years’ worth of stress actually caused CAD, no woman would ever survive motherhood.
