Today is my first ever HALF birthday!

I realize this pic is from the 6th, not the 26th. Her today pics weren’t so cute! LOL And I’ve been saving this one for something special. I am sure you can understand why!

How in the world will you ever wait until June? 6 months is my most favorite age!

I was thinking yesterday … I will have to really control my urge to scoop and smooch until after they have time to get used to me. Cesar Milan says when you meet new kids and dogs, it’s best to not try to speak to, touch or make eye contact. That allows them to feel safe and opens the door for them to come to you when they’re ready. It is going to test my patience to the limit!!

I don’t always comment on the little sprouts pictures, but I just want you to know they always make me smile. Nothing brightens one’s day more than looking at the smiling face of a little one.
    Sigh
Maybe I will get my son’s married off one of these days and get a little bunny or buzz of my own.
In the meantime, I just live vicariously through my friends who are already blessed with grandchildren.
    I am so jealous!

Keep the faith, GP! You are clearly a strong, intelligent woman and your boys are likely to find life mates like their mom. But it takes time for that kind of match. In high school, my middle girl moaned about rarely being asked out and I explained to her that she comes from a long line of strong, intelligent women.

She pointed out that her little sister had way more dates. Well, yes, but only because baby sister had deceptively sweet, pink and white, feminine fragile looks. Inside, she’s always been the Marine she chose to become after community college.

In fact, sweet little K is the only one of my girls to get thrown out of school. Granted, it was pre-K, but she really did get evicted for, among other things, trashing an entire room and kicking the teacher! One of the guys at our church was agog. “Little K? Sweet, shy little K?” Yeah. Her. I don’t know why we were so surprised when she joined the Marines … LOL.

So I asked middle, “undateable” daughter, “Does K get second dates?” Well, no. … Exactly.

The BOYS in high school were dating soft, sweet, pliable, hero worshiping GIRLS, not strong, intelligent women. It takes most boys a lot longer to grow into men than it does girls to grow into women. And only a real MAN can feel confident and fulfilled by a strong, intelligent WOMAN.

I told her she had to plow through more time, so the boys in her age range could mature into men who would appreciate her. And like her sisters and her mom and my mom … she found her guy in her mid-20s and he was older than her. If there’s one thing I can definitely say is true of my father, my hubby, and my sils … they all share with Todd Palin a strong sense of their own manly worth and a very healthy respect and admiration for their strong intelligent wives.

Dearest says he ENJOYS my mind. I love that. 🙂
