Actor Matthew Modine joined the ranks of other self-promoting celebri-ghouls who have crawled out of the fancy pants woodwork in order to politicize a tragedy and, maybe, give themselves another precious 15 minutes in the limelight. I watched Modine’s video … but only because it’s so brief (42 seconds) I couldn’t think of a decent excuse not to.
It offers zero information, just pushes the Modine name and offers an alleged invitation to “join the conversation” about finding “responsible solutions” to gun violence. Riiiiiiiiiiiight. Crowder remarked that when libs use word “enlightenment”, what they really mean is “I can’t really back up my stance, so I’ll act like you wouldn’t get it anyway.” They do the same thing with the word “Christian.” Apparently, Christians are not allowed to stick up for their own beliefs because, according to Leftists, it’s not “Christian” of us to do so. I think Jesus and the Apostles missed the memo on that.

Especially given how little they know about Him. For example, the Creator says again and again and again, “Thou shalt not murder innocent children.” We never hear Lefties yapping about this alleged “god of love” they supposedly think such a lot of when it comes to loving the unborn. That’s all about Women’s Rights to Choose (“Have things the way I want when I want”) which is … hmmm … what they claim we’re all about when we say we want guns to protect our own families kinda like they have to protect theirs. And why am I even talking about this? They’re such flaming hypocrites, it would be easier to clean Play Doh out of a shag carpet than get any of them to make SENSE.

I am, like, so totally confused about what the president wants from me. First he says, “..if they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun.” Then he says it is about the children and saving them. Now he wants to let the Adam Lantzs of the world bring two, three, or even four guns to the fight and we are to bring a closet to hide the children in. So confused….

This is off topic, since it has nothing to do with Modine’s obvious inability to make sense (lease of all common sense), but I saw him recently in a small picture (Opa!) where he had the male lead, and he had the chance to really shine. The film was good overall, but he was a total disaster, IMO. He very nearly ruined the whole movie by stumbling through the whole thing without showing a single believable emotion. It was pathetic. The unknowns in the film, on the other hand, gave really satisfying performances. I came away thinking he was a total nothing and wondering how he ever got into acting.

He’s one of those character actors who show up in a lot of eclectic movies. Kind of like a talent-less version of William H. Macy. He was the police chief in the recent Batman movie, Dark Knight Rises. Big one before that was Full Metal Jacket back in ’87, but lots of terrible movies meantime, like Gross Anatomy, Pacific Heights. Memphis Belle wasn’t too bad, I guess.

His face is familiar to me, but I think it’s just from playing the criminal of the week on a couple of the crime dramas I enjoy. I looked at his filmography, have only seen two — Notting Hill and Dark Knight Rises — and cannot recall him in either. And I JUST watched DKR last week!
I see in 2011, he completed something called “Jesus Was a Commie” which is described as “an avant garde-dialectical conversation about the world and the prominent issues of modern society.” I’ll be sure to give that one a big fat miss. If I see it at Netflix, I can even click ‘NOT INTERESTED’. I like that feature. Hee hee.
