As I began putting today’s post together,the white-haired fraud was testifying before a congressional committee.The democrats were all blowing her kisses and the republicans were trying to elicit straight answers,which is akin to getting blood from a stone when dealing with an entire party of inveterate liars.I just wish the GOP had a fraction of the killer instinct the dems display at every occaision instead of apologizing for inconveniencing this den of thieves.
At least we’ll have a little fun here tomorrow.

I cannot imagine what kind of idiots actually buy this costume.
When we were just 2 weeks wed, we were invited to a Halloween costume party and went as a bride and groom. Dearest looks so fetching with his beard, hair legs, the red onion bag I used for his veil and the pillow we pinned to his belly. I wasn’t nearly so cute swimming in his clothes and construction boots. We won 1st prize at the party.

I knew someone who lived in Beijing in the mid-1980s. He had a dental emergency and the “dentist” they assigned him didn’t speak English. She also didn’t bother to even use sign language or, oh I dunno, an x-ray? tapping on the teeth to see what made him scream? whatever … she drilled on the WRONG tooth with no anesthesia for so long, this guy says he lost touch with reality.
He had learned that his mail back home was read by the authorities, so he complained bitterly in a letter home, then voila, he was suddenly invited to see one of the good dentists they save for the PTBs.

This guy also told us that aborting girls was very common, as was throwing girl babies into dumpsters to die or maiming them (cutting their hands off was popular) to get a license to have a second child. Couples with a son look forward to having son and wife to care for them in old age. Couples with a daughter look forward to being alone and helpless.
China’s top down government has made some other devastatingly bad decisions, like the time they decreed that on a certain day, everyone would capture and kill as many birds as possible. The “thinking” if it can be called that was that birds eat the crops, so if there are fewer birds, there will be more crops.
Except birds eat mainly insects that eat crops, so the net result of their decimating the Chinese bird population was famine.

I think music is pretty magical. When my pit bull was a crazy, energetic puppy, I would play John Field nocturnes on the piano for her. She would always come into the room and lie down to listen. Worked like a charm! And she didn’t care if I made mistakes, either. Bonus!

Me, too! I’m actually just about to blow a bunch of money I don’t have on a full-size electronic console piano at Costco. I haven’t been able to play since college, and we don’t have room for a real piano, but this one sounds pretty good. I think maybe it’s time, even if it will only make the dog howl and the cat yowl.
