Our God is stronger than the Evil One!
Please consider entering into a special period of fasting and prayer to counter the powers and forces being unleashed by this event.
“(The Satanic black mass) blasphemes everything which we hold as sacred and redemptive; and the spiritual dangers it poses ought not be dismissed,” Bishop Edward J. Slattery of Tulsa wrote in a letter to the people of his diocese.
“Since the Civic Center has not responded positively to the pleas of the Archbishop of Oklahoma City not to host this event in a tax-payer supported public venue, I am asking the faithful Catholics in the Diocese of Tulsa to fight this blasphemy through prayer and fasting.”

Chrissy, do you mind if I add an RSS widget to the top right column to display the Verse of the Day?
The URL for the RSS feed is:
https://www.biblegateway.com/votd/get/?format=atom&version=NKJV
The Verse of the Day today is the verse which inspired our founders to create three branches of government:
Isaiah 33:22
“(For the LORD is our Judge, The LORD is our Lawgiver, The LORD is our King; He will save us);”
Judicial, Legislative, and Executive.

Chrissy,
I just tried to go add this widget, but it appears that I don’t have that level of authorization. I’ll walk you through how to do it…
Go to the Widgets page by either clicking on the “Widgets” link in WordPress or trying this direct URL:
https://polination.wordpress.com/wp-admin/widgets.php
Once there, scroll down the page until you find the RSS widget.
Drag the RSS widget up and to the right, to the top of the “Primary Widgets Area” column, and drop it there.
Once the RSS widget is there, configure it to look like this:
The full “RSS feed URL” to use is:
https://www.biblegateway.com/votd/get/?format=atom&version=NKJV
Save the widget, and it should appear on Polination in the same way that it does at my blog and at 4GFC.

THANK YOU for the hand holding! I’ve never been in that part of WP before and it took me several tries even with your help to get it the way I liked. I changed the translation to NIV because we have a lot of Catholic readers and this translation is kinda half-way between the NABRE we use and the KJV that many Protestants prefer.

I’m glad to help and happy that you figured out how to change the version to one you prefer. I realized later that on my blog and at 4GFC we also have another Widget below the Verse of the Day to “Search the Bible”.
It’s a “Text” widget, and here’s how I have it configured on my blog:
The actual text in the widget is: (edit this comment to copy the tag text and then paste it into your Text widget and modify it if you’d like)

Chrissy,
Try copy-pasting the following (directly from your screen this time, rather than editing this comment to get it…)

Woohoo!!! I just now discovered the Bible Gateway has ADDED the Catholic translation!!! It’s been such a nuisance to have to go separately to the USCCB site to cross-reference passages, especially since the lame USCCB site has no text search function. I’m happy dancing!!!
