Sitting here, looking out the window, pondering sallying forth in ten degree weather, I spent all of about 30 seconds to come up with a new definition for the changing climate where I live:
Spring….just warm enough to melt the snow
Summer….not quite as cold as winter
Autumn…..pre-winter
Winter….the nine month pause between autumn and spring
I figured by now some enterprising American(maybe Dianny?) would come up with a line of clothing related to Jonathan Goober.
If you google ‘Gruber clothing’,you come up with Hans Gruber,the character played by Alan Rickman in Die Hard. I believe there’s money to be made here by an ambitious individual who has an even sicker mind than I do.

Are liberal news outlets begging for a race riot in Ferguson?
Now, it is true that television networks profit from coverage of riots. So do extremist voices, often from out of town; suddenly people making threats and shouting vile things are in demand for interviews because they are elevated to the status of experts on the black experience. They certainly profit from racial chaos and violence and now they are looking to score again.
Stop it.
Those people looking to get on television and the producers looking for ratings will not be around to repair the damage once the riots tear through town.

Muslim Woman Wears Her Garb in American Store… It Doesn’t Go Well
A Muslim woman in Michigan who wanted a cash advance has sued because a company’s employees refused to serve her while she was wearing her Islamic head covering.
Raghdaa Ali was told to “get out” by a clerk in an Inkster branch of Advance America when she entered the store in June.
The clerk pointed to a dress code sign at the door, Ali said, and claimed that her religious head scarf violated the company’s policy barring hats.
“This is our beliefs and our religious, you know, we cannot take it off,” Ali told WXYZ. “She [the clerk] said, ‘If you cannot take it off, we cannot serve you.’”
“This is my country and I have the same right as they have,” Ali said.
But a statement from Advance America said that the no hat policy was not intended for identification, but for safety.

Awkward: CNN’s Don Lemon asks Tim Scott if he will run for POTUS. Scoffing ensues
Leftist hack tries to trap Sen. Scott. Epic fail.
But he also took the conversation down a couple of rabbit holes, first trying to get Scott to comment on why the NAACP had failed to call and congratulate either him or Representative-elect Mia Love (R – Utah 4) following the election. On this, as well as the rest of the questions during the interview, Tim Scott presented a pitch perfect template for how to reply when the media seeks to start a food fight between Republicans over race.
Lemon dragged out the apparently inevitable question on CNN, telling Scott that “a lot of people must be asking you this” and asking if he would be considering a run for the presidency. Scott hits this one out of the park as well.
“I once thought about running for the presidency of my homeowners’ association; I didn’t have the votes,” he responded.
“I think I might stay in the Senate for at least another term, maybe go into ministry after that.”

Protesters SWARM Mary Landrieu’s Capitol Hill Home
Liberal environmentalists are spending a rainy Monday morning in Washington protesting outside the Capitol Hill townhouse of Louisiana Democratic Sen. Mary Landrieu over the Keystone XL oil pipeline.
According to a source on the scene Monday, protesters are standing in the yard of Landrieu’s East Capitol Street home holding signs opposing the pipeline.

Well, this… has a sad ending.
When we’re driving home at night, as we cross the bridge over the creek, I figure, the big ol’ barn owl is high up in the tree on the left, and by our headlights spies some delicious victim in the creek down to our right. Consequently, when he swoops, he is right in front of our windshield. Several times had this happen there or or something like it nearby play out. Haven’t hit one, but it’s been close. I’ve seen other owls that didn’t make it. That’s to prepare you.
So, I though I had this nice local story, about a cousin of bob’s, a rare snowy owl in our neighborhood. “Snowy owl spotted south of Bartlesville” said the local radio station webpage headline. Article goes on about why they sometimes come around, their habits. Then the final line of the story: Sadly, FOX23 learned Sunday morning that at some point overnight the bird was struck by a car and killed.
Bad news, badly purveyed. Ugh.
