My grandma was pregnant with one of my uncles during the epidemic; she was extremely ill and nearly died. My dad and all his brothers were tall and sturdily-built. My uncle from that pregnancy was much shorter than the others, and his physique always remained slight.

Interesting. Also that the men didn’t get it. They said in the documentary that this flu was very unusual in being most lethal to strong men in their prime.
