We met my uncles and two of my cousins for our regular Thursday morning breakfast get-together. It’s one thing I can look forward to every week that brings me great joy. As we were leaving this morning, my cousin said she had granny’s old jewelry box with her, and did I want it back? I said ‘sure’ and so she got it out of her car and gave it to me. I remember it sitting on granny’s bedroom dresser for years. There was some jewelry left in it. Nothing of real value, but there was a rhinestone pin in the shape of a diamond she used to wear when she got dressed up to go out with Grampa. It brought back a flood of memories that had been dormant for many decades. She wore it to our church’s Christmas services and even wore it the day we buried the love of her life in 1972. After I fix a couple drawer pulls I plan to give it to my daughter to hand down to my granddaughter. I’m on the fence whether to keep the pin or give it to her, hoping she might cherish it as much as I do. It has absolutely no value money-wise, but it is priceless to me.

The State Department Will Release Hillary’s Emails in 2016
The State Department intends to release 55,000 emails belonging to Hillary Clinton in January of 2016. The emails to be released were turned over by the Clinton folks to the State Department, so they will not include all the emails on Hillary’s homebrewed server where she conducted her State Department business.

According to Politico, U.S. District Court Judge Rudolph Contreras rejected the State Department’s proposal to conveniently release the entirety of Clinton’s emails in January of 2016.
Even the mainstream media might not be able to ignore Clinton’s emails when they start rolling in – literally.
Contreras announced Tuesday, during a hearing on a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit brought by Vice News, that he will order a “rolling production” of the emails.

At times Dave would turn depressingly earnest, particularly when he thought he had a Deep Political Point to make. He had George W. Bush on during the 2000 campaign and started grilling him about capital punishment. It was crushingly wrong for Dave to turn into a finger-wagger, especially since he seemed woefully out of his depth on any issue. His comedy started to sound like everybody else’s, with the same potshots at the same easy targets. His act sounded less like dada, more like Dad.

Female Police Officer Shot Dead By 26 Year-Old Black Male in Omaha
A police officer was critically wounded today in an Omaha shooting.
UPDATE: 29-year-old Officer Kerrie Orozco died at Creighton University Medical Center shortly after the 1 p.m. shooting.
SHE WAS A DAY AWAY FROM BRINGING HER NEWBORN HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL
Deputy Police Chief David Baker said the gunfire erupted while officers were trying to serve a felony arrest warrant shortly before 1 p.m. Paramedics performed CPR on both the female officer and the suspect as they were taken to Creighton University Medical Center.

Mohammed’s $30 hot dog scam near 9/11 ground zero sets off fights
Ahmed Mohammed, a downtown Manhattan food cart vendor, is allegedly charging tourists outrageous prices for his hot dogs, NBC 4 New York reported
“I asked for a hot dog and a Dr Pepper. ‘$30.’ I said, ‘You’re joking right?’ ” a New Jersey customer named Ben told WNBC. “He was like ‘$15, maybe $10.’”
The man left in disgust, saying, “I left my bitten hot dog there. That was it.”
According to the report, Mohammed appears to be targeting customers with accents, thinking they are tourists who would not know what the average cost of a food cart item would be.

Suspect in 4 D.C. killings identified after DNA is found on pizza sent to burned home
Police said they had obtained a warrant for the arrest of Daron Dylon Wint, who they said is 34 and is from Maryland. They said they do not know his whereabouts.
The stunning break in the case came after police matched Wint to DNA found on the crust of a Domino’s pizza that had been ordered to the house the night of May 13, as the victims were being held, according to three law enforcement officials with knowledge of the investigation.
The next morning, Savvas Savopoulos’s personal assistant dropped off a package containing $40,000 in cash at the home, according to the officials and police documents.
Hours later, the multimillion-dollar house was on fire, and the four occupants were dead. When firefighters arrived that afternoon, the cash was gone, as was a blue Porsche owned by the family. The vehicle was found later that day, torched in a church parking lot in Prince George’s County.

Alabama Factory Workers Vote For Fifth Time To Boot UAW Union
I HAD TO END ON A POSITIVE NOTE
Alabama factory workers voted for the fifth time in two years to break ties with the UAW on Tuesday.
Workers at NTN-Bower voted 74-52 to boot the union off the premises of the manufacturer, making it the third time anti-union employees have beaten UAW Local 1990 in the last 18 months.
Local 1990 did not respond to request for comment.
