In the early 1960’s our city had plans to buy the 400+ acres of land old Dutch Sarver, a neighbor who raised corn and soybeans owned, which was right across the road from our farm and build a bunch of low income apartments. Our alderman, who was a member of the school board, a trustee of our church and the developer of a subdivision with a man-made lake he built about a mile away came around and got petitions signed to stop the sale. Nearly everybody in that part of the county signed it and they chose to put the apartments on the south side of the city.
There was an article in the Chicago Tribune about some rapper (don’t know his name, don’t care) who made a bunch of money selling the garbage that passes for music nowadays and bought a house in a gated community. After he moved in to his new mansion he threw parties every night until dawn, giant speakers blared their disgusting Ubangi chants, and his homeys urinated and defecated on the neighbors’ well-manicured lawns and smashed windows and broke into cars. When the police came they all scattered and laughed afterward.

An anti-Obamatrade group is having a bit of fun with some House Republicans’ apparent eagerness to give President Obama Congressional authority over U.S. trade policy.
The group, Fight for The Future, on Tuesday morning delivered letters to each of the 246 Republican House members. The missives pretended to come from President Obama, and request that each member rubber stamp the president’s highly secretive trade deal as the final vote nears.

I betcha I’m the only one who’s gonna suffer through that 8:18 of Lawrence O’Donnell and Michelle, but in that onerous assignment I noticed a couple of things:
(1) Michelle bemoans Hadiya who was cut down far too early in a life of promise, but blames it on gun violence. Yes that’s right, in the city with the most oppressive and illegal gun laws in the nation, it was guns and not endemic violence in the black community that caused her death. Blacks are angels, but guns?!? They can just spontaneously spring to life, sprout little legs and run around killing people!
(2) One of the ebony tools at the end used the occasion to decry police violence in general, and McKinney TX in particular. Not black violence. Police violence.
As long as every spokesperson in the black community keeps clinging to the Bart Simpson defense (“I didn’t do it!”) there’s no hope for those in these neighborhoods beset by crime and hatred.
Oh, I did notice one more thing, and I have to be honest: Michelle gives a real smooth, natural delivery, frankly better than either Hillary or Warren. I wonder if we’ll see a surprise nomination somewhere along the line …?

Marilyn Mosby’s Father Was A ‘Crooked Cop,’ Police Officer Grandfather Sued For Racial Discrimination

But while it’s true that numerous Mosby family members have worn the badge, a thorough look reveals a more complicated picture of that law enforcement background than she has let on in public.
Start with Mosby’s father, a former Boston police officer named Alan James. In 1989, James and a fellow officer named Dwight Allen were arrested and charged with assault and battery for their role in several armed robberies in a high-crime area of Boston.
Marilyn Mosby has made it widely known that she comes from a long line of police officers, five generations of law enforcement to be exact. The 35-year-old Baltimore city state’s attorney’s father, mother, grandfather, and uncles have all at some point worked as cops — a history which Mosby cites to push back against the claim — as Fox News’ Griff Jenkins put it during a recent interview — that Baltimore’s finest believe the rookie prosecutor does not have their backs because of how she’s handled the Freddie Gray case.

According to a Boston Globe article at the time, James, Allen and another suspect flashed badges and brandished guns while shaking down drug dealers. James was arrested while on duty at a police station in Dorcester but was acquitted of charges in the case in 1991. After acquittal he was immediately fired for conduct unbecoming an officer, according to the Baltimore Brew, an independent newspaper.
Mosby has not publicly acknowledged this mark on her family’s policing legacy. Though, according to the Brew, she acknowledged her father’s troubled past in a biography written for her campaign for state’s attorney.
“My dad was a crooked cop,” Mosby said, according to the document, which was not released to the public. “He confiscated drugs and money from the dealers on a regular basis.”
Then there is Mosby’s maternal grandfather, Prescott Thompson. Thompson, who went by Rick, sued the Boston police department in 1986, claiming that he was the target of racial discrimination after he was denied a job.
According to a 1994 Boston Globe profile, Thompson began working as a Boston cop in 1964. But in 1971, he suffered what seemed like a career-ending injury when a car battery exploded in his face, causing him to lose his right eye. With a glass eye replacement, Thompson remained on the force — but did not work — until 1976 when he reluctantly accepted a retirement offer.

Let’s see, two weeks in Hawaii for Christmas, a week of spring break vacation to Japan and Cambodia in March and this coming week the First Lady, Moms Robinson and the Obama Daughters will pack up and jet off to London and Milan for honors and some most excellent shoe shopping. So it should be obvious to ‘We The People’ what time it is. It’s now time for planning and building anticipation, and to pony up a few more million or so from the Treasury for the next lavish taxpayer funded vacation, of course!
Word is, the residents of Martha’s Vineyard are preparing for another possible nightmarish invasion of the first family vacationing again this year that some there liken to an “Outbreak of Herpes”. Details are in the planning stages for an airlift of the First Family, Moms Robinson, presidential advisors and military servants, about 82% of the Secret Service and sympathetic journalist to the beleaguered island known as “Hollywood East” for a long 10 days or so for inhabitants of the area in early August.
According to the Washington Times:
“The White House began making reservations months ago to accommodate the president’s large entourage of family, friends and Secret Service agents and officers, according to reports this week in the Martha’s Vineyard Times and the Cape Cod Times.
The White House has yet to confirm the first family’s vacation plans but last week, during a Air National Guard presentation, Col. James LeFavor said the president would be flying into Joint Base Cape Cod again this summer, according to the Cape Cod Times…..”
In past years, full time residents on Martha’s Vineyard have said they feel like they’ve been subjected to a real ‘whoop-ass’ by the time the President’s retinue finally departs, from blocked roads and public areas to leaving the pristine island looking like the remnant of an OWS gang bang and ‘choom’ or a government sponsored Low Info Voter Rally.

The viral video depicts the two preteens viciously attacking 12-year-old Macktaja Baldwin, an autistic girl who lives near her attackers in the same King Kennedy tenement building in Cleveland.

Wow, this guy’s so good! Y’all gotta watch this tape … slippery Bill is asked if there was any quid pro quo regarding the Clinton Foundation and Hillary’s role as SoS. He answers that nobody even brought this up as an issue until the “political season.” In other words, (a) he completely avoids the question, and (b) implies this is just partisan politics as usual.
When Jake rephrases his question to take a second run at it, Bill simply says “I don’t know; nobody ever asked me for anything.” Well of course not ya dumb turd, you were out of office at the time!

For nearly two decades, the U.S. Army has provided an honor guard for an Independence Day celebration at a Baptist church that predates the founding of the nation. But this year – that tradition has come to an end.
Officials at Fort Gordon say they will not be able to send an honor guard to a July 5th service at Abilene Baptist Church because it violates a military policy banning any involvement in a religious service.
