Nine new cities decided this year to abolish Columbus Day and celebrate Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday, including Albuquerque, New Mexico; Portland, Oregon; St. Paul, Minnesota; Bexar County, Texas; Traverse City, Michigan; and Olympia, Washington.
Last year, the holiday was celebrated for the first time in Minneapolis and Seattle, encouraging Native American leaders across the country to push for a new holiday on the second Monday of October that recognizes indigenous people, the Associated Press reported.

RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) — Presidential candidate Donald Trump will be in Richmond next week after his Virginia Beach rally was cancelled last week due to weather.
The event will be held at the Richmond Raceway Complex in Richmond on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 p.m.
The event is free but you must register online for a spot.

in 2008, about 2 weeks after the RNC Convention, Sarah and Todd Palin came to a rally at the exact same location. It was on a Tuesday, around 2:00 and there was only a day or two’s notice. No tickets because it was outside. I felt sorry for her for all the crap that was coming her way about Bristol, the “palling around with terrorists” comment, maybe the Charlie Gibson interview had come on TV, too. I don’t remember all the details. So I decided to go because I was afraid that not many people would be there, being during the work day and with little notice. I got caught up in a traffic jam like I have never seen before. Once I got there, I could not believe how many people were there, I think it was way over 10,000. There were seats around the raceway – a lot of them because that is where some big NASCAR races are held every year. But they were full and I couldn’t get anywhere close to them. It was still almost an hour before it was even supposed to start! I am short, so I could not see a single thing. I heard her speech but I could not have told you what she was even wearing. Finally I climbed on top of a trash barrel with a kid and saw her – sort of. Enough to know she was wearing a black skirt, white blouse, hair up. It was just crazy! I wonder if the Trump rally will be anything like that!

The makeup of CNN’s Democratic presidential debate set to air on Tuesday is missing a subtle detail that was present during last month’s Republican presidential debate aired by the network.
The left’s equivalent of staunch conservative talk radio host Hugh Hewitt.
The fact that CNN might be stacking the deck in favor of the Democratic Party is not breaking news — the irony here is that far-left zealots are complaining about it.

Connecticut School Bans Halloween To Avoid Offending People
According to the Connecticut Post, a letter was sent home to parents last week letting them know that the school district’s annual Halloween parades are being called off, due to “numerous incidents of children being excluded from activities due to religion, cultural beliefs, etc.”
Not only is the parade going, but all signs of Halloween are being prohibited. Students won’t be allowed to wear costumes to class, class activities cannot have a Halloween theme, and giving out food is “not an option.”

And in the midwest, municipalities routinely announce that their citizens must celebrate on Oct 29 or 30 for “safety” or whatever. How offensive and presumptuous is that? Since when did we vote them the purview to tell us when we can celebrate a grassroots, spontaneous, unofficial observance that’s just for fun? Nobody friggin’ regulates Halloween. The calendar tells us when it is, and it’s always the night before an actual CHURCH holiday. So, WTF?
