The Entertainer-In-Chief had the US Womens’ soccer team to the crib yesterday before heading off to Chicago. He addressed the Police Chiefs Association without ever mentioning Black Lives Matter, did a fundraiser or two, then dropped in on the Bulls-Cavaliers game to hobnob with people who actually have talent.

GOP leaders in Congress are preparing to rush through a two-year budget that would leave President Barack Obama with roughly $40 billion in extra domestic spending, plus an unfettered ability to attack undefended conservative causes via his regulations and management directives.
Leaders are “clearing the barn” of high-priority spending disputes, said Daniel Horowitz, the senior editor at Conservative Review.
But GOP leaders and legislators “are refusing to use the power of the purse” to win voters’ policy priorities, he said. They “are essentially nullifying James Madison’s plan to give Congress the power of the purse,” Horowitz added.
If Republicans “will not fight [for conservatives’ goals with] the budget… it is systematic breakdown of [constitutional] checks and balances,” he said.

The state supreme court is going to look at the issue and see if Stevens has the authority to dismiss jury panels because of a lack of minorities.
Unhappy with the number of potential black jurors called to his court last week, Jefferson Circuit Court Judge Olu Stevens halted a drug trial and dismissed the entire jury panel, asking for a new group to be sent up.
“The concern is that the panel is not representative of the community,” said Stevens, who brought in a new group of jurors despite objections from both the defense and prosecutor.
And this wasn’t the first time Stevens, who is black, has dismissed a jury because he felt it was lacking enough minorities. Now the state Supreme Court is going to determine whether the judge is abusing his power.
