If anybody’s interested, there’s a republican debate in South Carolina tonight. As in New Hampshire, the GOP-e is denying tickets to Trump and Cruz supporters. They’re hoping to revive Jeb’s flagging campaign or, at the very least, support Rubio. I have always preferred reading the reviews the next day rather than waste any time on the event itself.
I was enjoying my usual nap after work this morning when suddenly one of the smoke alarms started chirping periodically. Not steady, but enough to keep me from going back to sleep. I couldn’t get the cover off to take out the battery so I ripped it out of the ceiling. VICTORY!

Appearing on The Ellen Degeneres Show today, President Obama was read a love poem from his wife, Michelle, and explained why he wouldn’t be speaking at his daughter Malia’s graduation from the Sidwell Friends School later this spring. According to Obama, who considers his eldest daughter to be one of his best friends, he turned down an offer to speak at her graduation because he will be “sitting there with dark glasses, sobbing.”

A 17-year-old robber’s arm was severed in Brooklyn after he held up a man at gunpoint for a pair of pricey sneakers, police sources said.
Through the app Wallapop, gunman Zachary Sam and seller Philippe Pierre, 39, had arranged to meet up at 1 p.m. Friday in Canarsie, sources said.
But when Pierre showed up, asking $490 for a pair of Air Jordan 8 Retro sneakers, the teen crook pulled out a gun and demanded the kicks for free inside Pierre’s gray Honda Pilot, police sources said.

Poll: Voters Open To Revolution To Steal Other People’s Money
THIS IS WHAT WE’RE UP AGAINST
Fifty-four percent of respondents to our online poll — which reached a sample of 1,884 registered voters nationally from Friday, January 29, through Sunday, January 31, 2016 — agreed that a “political revolution might be necessary to redistribute money from the wealthiest Americans to the middle class.” Just 30 percent said they disagreed.
Liberals and liberal-leaning demographics were most likely to agree with the statement. But majorities of independents, white voters, evangelicals, and even Tea Party supporters in our sample agreed too — showing that redistribution may no longer be a dirty word in American politics.
