For the love of Pete I should not be up right now, but as I find myself to be, I decided that I might as well make myself useful and get this thread going. Insomnia, you are my constant companion.
We have had a few friends drop in, please do stop by yesterday’s thread and give them a warm welcome.
I shall post this now and hope, and plead, for some sleep. Good day to you, and happy posting, PoliNators!

For the love of me,I’m here!I’m the crazy one who’s up by 3AM most days.As a refugee of M4U,I used to post a thread called:The Grudge Report.Just a few links you might like to check out:

I heard this on the radio this morning so I did a little sleuthing: in 1988 the Supreme Court ruled that a parody of Jerry Falwell done by Hustler Magazine was free speech. The DJ made this comment: if Hustler ran the identical parody today but substituted “Barack Obama” for Jerry Falwell, would it still be considered free speech? They all seemed to doubt it; I tend to agree.
Great to see Gracie and Motley on yesterday’s thread… hail, hail, the gang’s finally getting all here!

Morning all! I had the best time last night – old-fashioned politics at the local watering hole – just like in the good old days. Reps and Senators from both parties, lobbyists, and ordinary citizens chatting, visiting, a little debating, a lot of good-natured kidding, a little bit of grumbling and grouching. A few deals were made, a couple of lessons were explained to the freshmen, and LOTS of gossip and rumors were shared. Heck, I even got hit on a couple of times (and trust me – THAT hasn’t happened in a LONG time!). Half-time break for the Montana legislature starts today and everybody needs the short break.
Now I have to get ready for work. Have a great day everyone!

The Union HooHa has me a bit unsettled. I have the great good fortune to live in a Right to Work state. It seems like Unions are going to be protesting in other states. In a strictly “Louisiana” way some here are taking bets as to whether they will dare to come here, and how many will wind up in the Swamp. That has been known to happen here in Bayou Country. We really need to pray for our Country!

I am not necessarily against Unions as a whole, it is Public Sector Unions that I have a problem with. Taxpayers cannot afford the PSUs any longer.

Gracie, you are so right. Take it from one who lives in Wisconsin. We have a governor who is trying to keep us from ending up like California, and for that he gets compared to Hitler, Stalin, Hosni Mubarak, and Beelzebub.
The union thugs here keep saying “it’s not about the money,” and in one sense that’s true — what it’s really about is Wisconsin becoming a de facto right-to-work state. Once people can no longer be forced to pay union dues, how many of them are going to pay them voluntarily — especially in this economy?

I absolutely agree! Follow the money.

That is exactly what this is about. Without forcibly taking money from people, they will loose all their power.

I have no problem with the concept of unions, in general. I believe it is the right of each employee to form/join a union, if they choose. I also believe it is the right of each employer to choose whether or not to hire/negotiate with unions. In most instances, however, unions are not in the best interest of either the empoyee or the employer.
In the case of public sector unions, the taxpayers (and their elected representatives) are the employer and should be able to decide whether or not to negotiate with unions, just like any other entity. It becomes so easy, in these instances, for the employees to claim that the government is suppressing their right to collective bargaining. It’s a matter of spinning it so that “the government” is not allowing them to unionize versus “their employer” not allowing it. Big difference.
I don’t want my elected officials to negotiate with unions. If I owned a private business, I would handle it exactly the same way.

Did anyone else happen to see Rachel Maddow on Jay Leno the other night? Believe me, I didn’t watch it on purpose and cringe every time I think about it. It just came on the TV and I failed to change the channel. 🙄
Anyway…he asked her who her favorite president of all time is, and, instead of actually answering the question, she babbled on and on about how the country has been “dragged” further and further right over the last 50 years, to the point that she can no longer accurately identify where she fits in the political spectrum.
Is she on the same planet as us?
Does she even know what “left” and “right” means, politically speaking?

That’s great! And what a cute house! I worked at a title company, I usually can’t stand most mortgage companies – they get their stuff in late and then harrass you for a settlement statement. Jerks. So this made me smile.

I need help. This may appear selfserving, but this stuff goes on all the time, and the more it is exposed, the better for all. Can people go to these links and leave comments so that it gets more visibility. Already it is hard to find when you just read the articles in view, and these won’t come into view unless they have comments. Love to all.

· Attorney General Mark Levin: Won’t Enforce Roe v. Wade | AmSpecBlog

Barely twenty-four hours after her inauguration as America’s first woman chief executive, President Sarah Palin announced today that Attorney General Mark Levin has been instructed to stop defending Roe v. Wade and abortion in a wave of fresh lawsuits filed in federal courts around the country.

I have long fantasized about what President Palin would do in her first days. The first day,she lifts the ban on drilling in Anwar, orders oil exploration on both coasts and the gulf, put Americans back to work building new refineries and nuclear plants. And prisons so criminals stay there.
Second day:put well-armed military on the Mexican border with orders to shoot to kill if fired upon.Finish the damn fence.
Third day:have AG Levin arrest Eric Holder for treason and sedition.Same with Soros.
Fourth day:dismantle the Education Dept.,EPA and Energy Dept.
Fifth day:pull the US out of the UN and ask them to meet in another country, like Switzerland.Cut off all financial aid to dictatorships including(but not limited to)N. Korea,China,Burma and most of the middle East.
Sixth day:institute national vouchers for low income families so kids have a chance to break the welfare cycle.
Push for tort reform and insurance portability to bring healthcare costs under control.
Seventh day:sit back with cup of coffee and watch the liberal heads pop like overripe zits.
Never happen,but I can dream,can’t I?

Tina took the big bruise that was the result and did the “Born to Truck” tattoo first. Once it shrank some, she drew the butterfly out of the bruise that was left. Funny girl, that Tina.
