Nice little business you got here… Be a shame if anything happened to it…

Union thugs in Wisconsin are training their sights on businesses owned by citizens who had the effrontery to contribute to Scott Walker’s campaign for governor. The thugs are offering Walker donors the opportunity to atone for their sins by now publicly opposing the governor and his efforts to limit collective bargaining for public employees in Wisconsin. If the business owners who supported Walker refuse to do as the union thugs demand, their businesses will be targeted (yes, I used that word) for boycott.

Here is an excerpt from the letter that the union thugs sent to the business owners:

“While we appreciate that you may need some time to consider this request, we ask for your response by March 17. In the event that you do not respond to this request by that date, we will assume that you stand with Governor Walker and against the teachers, nurses, police officers, fire fighters, and other dedicated public employees who serve our communities.

“In the event that you cannot support this effort to save collective bargaining, please be advised that the undersigned will publicly and formally boycott the goods and services provided by your company.  However, if you join us, we will do everything in our power to publicly celebrate your partnership in the fight to preserve the right of public employees to be heard at the bargaining table.”

I read in the Beloit(Wis.) Daily News that union thugs were planning to march into the M&I Bank, across from the capitol to close all their accounts, since one of the partners supported Gov. Walker.News flash to these punks:you think you can hurt a bank this size by withdrawing a few lousy dollars?I think if that happened,M&I would get a lot of new business.I go by the branches in Beloit,Janesville and Madison every day.
On a lighter front, somebody at Powerline put this 4 minute video together of the latest bunch of protesters up there. Its just sad to see some people my age never got over 1968.I wasn’t very impressed by it the first time.

  4. Here’s an interesting article on “Wisconsin’s Useful Idiots”:

“As tens of thousands continue to take to the streets nationwide to stop the ultra-right Republican assault on workers’ rights, democracy, public education, health care and vital social services, the Communist Party is in the mix, say its members. In fact, Communist Party members are working in coalition with other progressive groups in helping lead many of the local fight back efforts.”

You see, this is why I never donate enough to a candidate to have to have my name published. It is hard enough to make a living without alienating half of your potential customers. In 2012, I plan to make the first exception. I’ve been saving my money and my anger and it is going to be released!

It must be very unnerving for a business to have such a shakedown, if you will, from police and firefighter unions, though. I’m sure they are wondering if the firetruck will take its sweet time getting to their business if it was on fire.

    • That would definitely worry me if I owned a business. For that matter, if I make a target of myself in my town by being too vocal with my unpopular opinions, I would be afraid that if my house were to catch fire, the firefighters would not be in any major hurry to get here and put it out. I wonder if Wisconsin cops are going to start picking on drivers who have Scott Walker bumper stickers on their cars?
