Make no mistake;the unions play for blood. They’ve dumped 3 million into defeating Judge Prosser already and will spend millions more to shift the balance of power from one of constitutionalists to one of judicial activism. The liberal playbook never changes. What they can’t get through elections or legislation, they get through a corrupt judicial system.

RIP Gerry. SP’s statement, from FB:
My family and I would like to express our sincere condolences to the family of Geraldine Ferraro. When I had the honor of working alongside Geraldine on election night last year, we both discussed the role of women in politics and our excited expectation that someday that final glass ceiling would be shattered by the election of a woman president. She was an amazing woman who dedicated her life to public service as a teacher, prosecutor, Congresswoman, and Vice Presidential candidate. She broke one huge barrier and then went on to break many more. The world will miss her. May she rest in peace and may her example of hard work and dedication to America continue to inspire all women.

Somewhere I read that her running mate, Mondale, was treated like a nobody at the 2008 Dem convention. A former presidential candidate! Sheesh.
I read somewhere that when a male lion wins a pride from the former alpha male, the new male kills all the former male’s cubs. Dems kinda remind me of that.

Chrissy, the difference is lions do it for survival;dems destroy people for sport.

Yes, Pete, I see your point. And I agree they do appear to get an unholy glee out of thrashing political enemies.
My ponderings went more toward how Dems destroyed valuable Dems, people like Hillary and Geraldine once the new “alpha male” Barack came to power.
In lions, I was thinking a new alpha male kills cubs to bring his females into season so he can propagate his own DNA rather than “waste” his energy protecting and feeding the previous alpha male’s off spring. That’s just a guess. I don’t know much about lions.
But there does seem to be some parallel with the way Dems savage their own who step even a little bit off the party line. Just my thoughts.

You’re right about lions, Chrissy. (Tomcats who haven’t been neutered will do the same thing.) If a lioness is lactating, she won’t go into heat, so when a new alpha male comes along to take over a pride, he has to kill all the cubs before he can get any action. I recently watched a video lecture by a couple who lived and worked with lions in Africa for many years, and according to them, every time an alpha male is killed (usually by trophy hunters), it results in the death of about thirty other lions — all of the cubs in the dead lion’s pride, as well as some of the lionesses who are killed when they try to protect their cubs. It was very interesting. I’ll have to look and see if I can find a link to it.

I’ve had two thoughts about this.
One, I get it that the elite snobs who paid to schmooze and nosh with Biden and Nelson didn’t want to rub elbows with or have to watch their potty mouths around a reporter. But the party was at a MANSION, for crying out loud. They couldn’t find ONE comfortable room or a plate of food for the reporter to wait in for the “official remarks” segment he was welcome to attend? Sheesh.
Two, I found no mention of this except in the blog at the Orlando Sentinel, the UK Guardian, Drudge and conservative blogs that picked it up from Drudge. The reporter did not include anything about it in his story about the event itself and the MSM has ignored it.
But please … can’t we all imagine what a brouhaha there would have been about Eeeevil Republicans impinging on the Sacred Freedom of the Press if this had happened at a Palin event or somewhere similar?! It would’ve been THE top story on evening and morning news shows and all the liberal talk shows, the hags on The View would’ve been spewing bile and SNL and Jon Stewart would’ve featured skits about it.
Am I right? But Biden’s man does it? … crickets …

I recall Sarah speaking at a gun rights group in Nevada not long ago that was closed to the press. One reporter was caught with his ear to the door trying to hear what was being said. You can’t make this stuff up.

What I didn’t get, was it a closed press event ? Is this on par with other fundraising events where the fat cats might be with their mistresses? (heh) The closet looked larger than my master bedroom, so I’m starting to question the reporting by the reporter ? Most of us peons think of closets as dark and claustrophobic spaces.
LikeLike
It was in a mansion. They must have bigger closets there. I have read that the owner of the house has sent the guy an apology for what happened, and a politer one than was sent by Biden’s people, according to the reporter.

Rich people’s houses do have closets that are larger than a lot of people’s bedrooms (or living rooms, sometimes). They need more storage space to hold all their worldly goods than we ordinary working stiffs do. 🙂
LikeLike
It wasn’t so much a closet as a storage room cum attic space. The reporter texted there were boxes marked “consignment” so I’m thinking it’s where the household stuffed whatever they planned to ship off to Goodwill when they had enough to get them to send a truck and … no doubt … provide a receipt.
I was so disgusted one year to learn a rich Democrat pol who had donated no actual $ to charity took a deduction for “clothes” donated to a thrift shop. Clothes which I’d bet the rent were all the “so last year” items they wouldn’t be caught DEAD in again.

I doubt it. Nobody knew what he was going to do until he was already doing it. That’s why she came over here and wrote it down while it was still very fresh in her minds. You know she had 2 books published, right? About the life of Jesus–one as seen through the eyes of His enemies, and the other as seen through the eyes of His friends. Well, her Bible stories that she told when she was a little girl were every bit as creative as Devon’s latest effort, but without the puppets. We never had any. It makes me wonder just what Devon will write when he grows up…assuming he ever learns how to spell!

Well, Richmond still has the basketball fever. We went to Evening Prayer at 5:00 at our church tonight and the rector said he wanted to say a prayer of thanksgiving for the VCU Rams, but he would let us do that silently! Our neighbor, the Univ. of Richmond, got trounced by Kansas, but VCU emerged victorious. At least the hooplah will be about 10 miles away instead of across the street. Today, I heard someone at the President’s house playing basketball on the driveway, but that was it. I have to confess that I did not watch a single play of a single game, but I’m still happy for the Rams, and sad for the Spiders. It is a big game when they play each other here. They have to get the police to direct traffic before and after the games, but everyone seems to be over the rivalry now and it is all Ram fever tonight.

I drove a bus of cheerleaders to one of these “big rival” games once. Our boss gave us a specific route to use over and ESPECIALLY back to avoid getting egged etc.
