Bar room justice

H/t to Pistol Pete for video

After watching this, I googled Jesse Ventura, who I kinda sorta knew was a flaming Leftist who had been a professional wrestler once upon a time and governor of one of those states (Minnesota) in the middle that I can never remember.

[I’m not prejudiced about Middle America … just geographically impaired.]

I was appalled to learn that, in 1970, Ventura had graduated from BUD/S and served in the UDT!

IOW, he’s a SEAL!

UN-freaking-believable!

Methinks he took too many blows to the head during his wrestling days.

The question is … what excuse do the gnomes who made him a governor have?

  1. I knew he was a Navy veteran, which made it really bizarre that he would say what he (allegedly) said about the SEALs. Maybe he was drunk, not that that’s any excuse…

I live next door to Minnesota, and I remember when he ran for governor back in 1998. He ran a third party campaign and defeated both major party candidates. His campaign ads were clever and original, and I thought it was neat that he was a Navy vet, so I kind of liked him. There were many things he did as governor that were good. Of course there were a lot of things I disagreed with him about, but that’s true of all politicians. I’m still finding it hard to believe the incident described above. If true, it’s reprehensible.

Beyond what I read at Wikipedia and saw in the video above, I’m totally iggerant about Jesse Ventura. Three things made me feel strongly enough about this to blog it.

      1. John Kerry’s behavior toward his fellow vets.
      2. John Murtha’s behavior toward his fellow vets.
      3. Chris Kyle’s demeanor in the video.
