I just cannot believe that this man has lasted so long in politics. We have a few local guys here who keep getting elected until they wind up in prison, and would probably still be elected if they could run for office from prison. Barry’s hard living really shows up here, as brain damage.

Democrats are shameless!
On Oct. 20, 2008, Dryden Town Justice Joe Valentinelli suffered a massive heart attack. He died twice on the way to the hospital and lacked blood flow and oxygen for hours, which usually means brain damage. He was unresponsive for days, kept alive only by machines. But Dryden Democrats kept him on the ballot where, still unconscious and unresponsive, he was re-elected by a landslide. He didn’t open his eyes until two weeks after surgery, after which he had to re-learn all his basic skills. He returned to the bench. http://www.sjhsyr.org/sjhhc/pdf/pub_CareConnS09.pdf
I know Joe. He was going to our church before we moved here long, long ago. He’s a nice guy and I’m glad he recovered. But I can’t help wondering, as I did when Gabby Giffords was kept on for how long? A year? and Robert Byrd was rambling and falling asleep in his Senate seat … don’t We the People deserve to have fully functional officials actually DOING these important jobs?!

It’s kind of crazy, don’t you think? Maybe it has something to do with the Americans With Disabilities Act? Remember when they had to wheel Robert Byrd in on some kind of guerney, during a blizzard, on Christmas Eve, to vote on the Health Care bill?
