Hey AL, what happened to all that money you guilted people out of for you carbon footprint hoax? What happened to the millions in the Chicago Climate Exchange account when the Southshore Bank, where you and Barry, and the Clintons set up your scheme, quietly folded? Why aren’t you in jail for this scheme?
No wonder tipper dumped this fat ass. Now if he would just go away and leave the rest of us alone.

I just wish the GOP would stop taking credit for THEIR organization. It is the TEA party that is doing the heavy lifting. They had better start giving credit where credit is due, or the GOP party will see a mass exodus too.

Yep, yep, yep.. A lot of these wins are in spite of the GOP, not because of them. I really don’t think the GOP has a clue, to tell you the truth. I think they think the Tea Party is just the rallies and protests, and it is all of their genius that is winning the elections.

My first year in college, I took a horseback riding class in summer school (and got credit!). I will never forget how incredible it felt to fly at a full canter for the first time on a horse. On day one, we were assigned horses. I got stuck with the most stubborn horse in the barn. His name was Sheldon. He would constantly want to stop and graze along the trail, and even buck me off him. I would always end up at the end of the pack, but the teacher taught me how to keep the horse in line, and I always managed to keep him under control.
For our final, we had to put our horse through some maneuvers. But the teacher slyly told us we were going to draw numbers and trade horses. Well, I got the best horse in the barn! This horse was amazing and I flew through my final with an A. The poor girl who had been riding this horse got stuck with Sheldon. He kept throwing her off and she finally gave up in tears.
I bet she was a democrat.
High on my bucket list is to someday ride a horse at a full cantor on a beach. I get such a feeling of joy just thinking
about it.
And thanks to Sheldon, I think I can handle anything.

I talked with an amazing woman once … mother of ten, or was it 12? Anyway, half were tough kids who’d been in the foster system. She said the key to their success was to give each one a horse. As I recall, her pithy explanation was, “If they didn’t take responsibility, their horses would slam them into the wall.” Made sense to me. I rode for years. The confidence and lessons learned definitely helped me cope with tough times.

God knows, they would have to be better than Boehner and Cantor. I’m voting for the Tea Party guy running against Cantor in Tuesday’s primary, but he doesn’t stand a chance, I’m afraid, unless every single disgruntled progressive in this affluent district heads out in the open primary to head off Eric at the pass. But they would have to leave their air conditioned spaces and slather on 75 SPF lotion and bug spray, so they won’t bother.

It is about time for the GOP to give it up to the tea party leaders. We are the reason they have a majority. Roskam and Ryan would be awesome. And wouldn’t it be ironic that they both come from blue states (at least for the time being).

I hate to interrupt the happy dance, but does anyone else find the Ron Paul people as worrisome as I do? Even though I agree with a lot of Ron Paul’s ideas, I do not see him as a leader. His groupies are so passionate however that they are willing to disrupt the whole convention, which they have been able to seat with a lot of their delegates, in order to get their way and get Paul nominated.
This whole thing will be a disaster and I am fearful it will divide the party and give Obama a victory. In fact, since I know many of these people, who are almost all former dems, I truly believe this has been the plan all along. No one in the GOP seems to be taking this seriously, or planning ahead to do anything about this.
What do the rest of you think? Here is an example of what they did to control the LA caucuses:

I know Ron Paul covets a prime time spot at the convention, but I can’t see him shafting the GOP by going third party because the blowback would affect his son,Rand, who has a big future.

I tend to agree with you, but I am telling you his followers are obsessed with getting him elected any way possible. They are going to disturb the convention unless Ron Paul speaks out. If he allows them to cause the convention to get out of control, he will lose all credibility and then we will have a split convention. This could be a disaster. This is something that the Obo campaign will foment if they can.

Not that I’m a big authority on the RNC, but I was a delegate in 2008 and the whole thing is so orchestrated that, unless the RP delegates have someone on the program committee, there won’t be any opportunity for him or them to do anything significant. All the meetings are run under Robert’s Rules – and there’s a high-powered Parlimentarian on site at all times – so any attempt to deviate from the script can and will be rapidly shut down. If anything happens, it would be outside of the official convention and would be at best, “sound and fury signifying nothing”.

It surely does not qualify as “hate speech” when one of the Lefties speaks against Republicans, Tea Partiers, Christianity, Judaism, the right of Israel to exist, traditional marriage, gun rights or legal protection for the unborn. The whole point of the First Amendment is to protect unpopular speech. Popular speech does not NEED protecting.

On a related, side note, I read my Republican Congressman’s reasons for voting against the gender selection abortion ban and ended up agreeing with him. One of his points was that it attempted to criminalize intention. As much as I hate any abortion and would love to see it curtailed, I had to agree with him on this, because I oppose hate crime legislation for the exact same reason.
Criminalizing THOUGHTS is a very slippery slope that should not be part of our judicial system. Motive obviously enters into a jury’s deliberations and should definitely be a part of the judge’s sentencing decision. But as for the crime itself, it should only be what a person actually did.
LikeLike
I’m glad to hear you say this, Chrissy. As much as I detest any abortion, and as despicable as it that people do it for trivial reasons, I was uncomfortable with this particular attempt to curb it — primarily because it would NOT save any lives (any woman who was determined to abort her baby girl could easily come up with another reason to have the abortion, and it would be impossible to prove that she was killing the baby for being female), and also because it smacked of hate crime legislation, which I oppose 100%. Only actions should be criminalized, not motives. And killing a baby girl because she’s a baby girl isn’t any different from killing her because she might be handicapped, or because babies are too expensive, or she has enough kids already, or because the timing is inconvenient, or whatever other reason people give for aborting — the baby is just as dead in any case.
