Michelle Obama griped that she had never been proud of her country. Well, Toots, I have never been proud of having you represent my country.

Some stories upset me so much that I can’t graphic or blog about them. This is one of those.

I never cared about the WMD issue when it came to the debate to go into Iraq. I felt the real issue was human rites. Why do idiots like Clooney complain that the US did nothing for the people of Darfur, but they do not see the good that we did for the women of the middle east.
About 2 years after the Iraq war started, when things seemed to be going well because Al Queda had not gotten too involved yet, and the press was not trying to destroy Bush, I saw a program on Cspan that really made me believe it was worth it. A group of Iraqi women, who had once been educated and professionals before Saddam, were in DC at a women’s symposium. They talked about how thankful they were for the US. They said they had had to teach girls to read in hidden basements because Saddam would kill them if you knew. Women were to remain illiterate and subservient under his dictatorship. This never made the news. I do not know why these women were only on CSpan. I wonder if there is a YouTube somewhere? It was an amazing interview. I think a couple of the brave women on this panel tried to run for public office and were assassinated. They were so brave.
Stories like the link above are so common in the middle east. To me, that alone was justification for an invasion.
Sadly, the most recent countries to fold in the mideast will go from bad to worse for women, since we no longer support anything but the moslem brotherhood.
We need to bring some of the Iraqi’s back to the US and let their stories be heard.

I heard stories like this from my kids’ times in Afgh and Iraq. It’s what made me start to FINALLY question the alphabet’s reporting.

Just wondering how many lives would have been saved if someone in that theater had been packing and willing to take down that sicko whose name I refuse to even learn, much less repeat.

Good point, Chrissy. I read earlier that there was at least one guy carrying a weapon in Theater #9, but he never got a shot off and didn’t want to talk about it. I suspect that the cowardly douchenozzle-bastard-gunman was wearing so much body-armor while he was busy shooting unarmed children that there was never much of a chance for anyone to get a good shot at him anyway. Pity the Aurora police didn’t figure out how to accidentally back the SWAT van over him.
