I sent this to my son. He said it was too long to read. Honestly this Y (me me) generation is so out to lunch.
But he did buy my lunch. lol
He gets so mad when I bring up politics. He will not listen to me at all. But he did say he will vote for Ron Paul. At least it’s not Obama again!
As I said before, every RP supporter I know voted for Obama, so I do not think he is going to hurt the GOP ticket.
But I am not giving up on my son. We still have some time.
Anyone know a nice young conservative girl I can encourage to knock some sense in my DS?

Wish I could help you, GP. I have two kids who are anarchists and one who’s a libertarian. I also have one with her head screwed on straight, but she’s too young to vote. Sigh… The last time I went to the polls I noticed that all my adult kids are still registered to vote in this ward — they all registered back when they were still living with their father and me, and since none of them ever bothered to re-register when they moved away, their names have never been removed from the list. I told my husband that if our 17-year-old wanted to vote, all she’d have to do is go in there and claim to be one of her older sisters, and they’d hand her a ballot without questioning it. When you don’t have to show photo ID to vote, stuff like that would be really easy to do, and you’d have at least a 99% chance of getting away with it.

Maybe on election day we should just invite our kids over for dinner, give them a high carb meal so they are in food coma and can’t get off the couch and won’t want to get up and go vote. Between us, that’s 4 less votes for obummer.
Just think how many kids we moms could keep away from the polls with this strategy.

My kids aren’t going to vote for Obummer. Odds are the two anarchists won’t vote at all (the eldest, who lives in Chicago, isn’t registered to vote there; if she were, her name would have been taken off the list here). My son will either vote for Ron Paul if he’s on the ballot or else not vote at all. All of them believe that both major political parties are hopelessly and equally corrupt and they want to abolish the two-party system… not sure what they think they want to replace it with. Ah, the idealism of youth…

The first time I read that figure, I actually thought, ‘Whew, good thing they only burned through 70K.’
In 2008, I would’ve been shocked and disgusted by the dhimmitude of our government; in 2012, I’m not shocked at all. The fact that our state dept spent 70K on apologist, unamerican cowardice in Pakistan seems minor in comparison with everything else that’s happened over the past 4 years. Fundamental transformation, indeed. Thanks, Øbama.
