You’ve heard about it;maybe you saw it.Part of my job is to cover this stuff and critique it for you so you don’t have to.If you missed it,consider yourself fortunate.It was ugly.Biteme was rude,condescending,arrogant,off-putting,bitter and overbearing.Had I been in Ryan’s chair,I would have been sorely tempted to leap across the table and administer the ass-whooping that his mama obviously didn’t give him.Maybe Ryan was told not to get into a mudfight with the ‘mouth that soared’,just let him rant.He did,I couldn’t.
It was evident early on that it was going to be two against one as Martha Rattazz pounded Ryan and interrupted him constantly if Biteme didn’t do it first.When he did,she just let him do it.Ryan kept his composure and acted like an adult while Crazy Uncle Joe was a complete jerk.This was intentional because his aim was to fire up the base.You know,the low-rent knuckle dragging morons who think lighting their own farts is funny as hell.Tingles was so excited I’d bet he had a chubby just thinking about Plugs pummeling the kid.
Obviously,most of the links today are related and I’m posting the entire debate on this thread for anybody who wants to see it.It was less of a debate and more of a campaign filibuster.At the end of the day,the country saw exactly who and what this administration is.

This is what I came away with. For most of my voting life, I was a “wait until the end and vote character” person. I abandoned the Democrats because of Carter and abortion, didn’t get on board with Republicans until after my kids went to war. I always figured the platforms and programs didn’t matter so much, because once a person was in office, they’d do what they wanted, not what they promised. So I voted character.
When the s hits the fan and that guy in the Oval is the one getting the best intel and having to make the toughest decisions, character matters. When our head guy has to negotiate and make nice to people he can’t stand, character matters.
On these issues, there was NO contest, even for us listening on radio. Biden showed himself to be an intolerant, impatient, bad-tempered blow hard and a bully. That is NOT the kind of guy I want dodging the fan and doing diplomacy. I want someone who showed what Ryan showed, that he can keep his cool when provoked, that he is smart and savvy and honest.
IMHO, the only people who thought Biden did well last night are so far in the tank for Obama, they’ll vote for him if he’s in a coma on election day.

Dumb thing is … the majority of Americans are now squarely in the Romney “rape, incest, health only” camp. I think the Left may still be using their old 60s playbook when people actually believed “safe, legal and rare” meant something. Today’s Americans know better. And the hippie dippie generation that was and still is the biggest pro-abort demographic is getting older, senile-r and deader. Young people are coming into voting age more pro-life than ever before and the trend is consistent that, as people age, their demo gets MORE pro-life. Even the hippie gen did that; they just started out so high that they’re still high even now they’re post-menopausal and needing little blue pills. Pelosi, Sebelius, Biden, Clinton … they’re part of that demo. And they apparently never step outside their libtard bubble or read any polls that weren’t skewed to tell them what they wanted to think anyway.

It could be a game plan, actually. If they’d made a stink about moderators being too liberal, they’d have come across whiney, which Americans tend to really loathe. And where Americans see a referee being unfair, they tend to side with the underdog. Romney and Ryan clearly have no problem handling moderators who favor their opponents. My guess is they had the same attitude Dearest had when I suggested this. “Bring it on.”

The thing about Republican candidates is that they’ve been in an adversarial relationship with the media from the get-go, and have either learned to cope with it successfully or dropped out of politics and looked for another profession. I think it keeps them sharp and focused. They know they can’t sit around giggling and saying idiotic things like Joe Biden and expect to get away with it. They know that whatever a Republican does, he (or she) has to do twice as well as a Democrat to be thought half as good.

The debate Pete describes was so different from what Dearest and I listened to. It’s amazing what body language adds to the meaning of a conversation! We were annoyed by Biden’s constant interruptions and bullying, thought Ryan did really well staying on task; but we both honestly felt Raddatz had done a good job overall. I’m looking forward to reading and seeing what Pete’s gathered here :).

interrupted Ryan 34 times, for a total of 116 times in a 90 minute
debate.
Now, let’s break that down further:
Biden spoke for 41:50 minutes. Ryan spoke for 40.05 minutes.
This means that Ryan was interrupted by either Biden or the moderator EVERY 20.73 SECONDS.
Try making ANY POINT under such assault.

The interrupting was probably the strategy in the hopes to get Ryan flustered and seem inept. But is sure backfired big time.
Come to think of it, isn’t this always the case when trying to discuss anything with a lib. One can never finish a point without them interrupting, and we know everything we say is falling on deaf ears. They do not care about facts, it is just their idiotology that moves them.
