Good to see you, Pete. Thanks for keeping us fully abreast of this situation. I’m sure this kind of donation is tax-deductible, and going with the usual hospital price scale, surely it must be worth something like $600,000/gallon. But the IRS probably limits your deduction to $10 per side (itemized) and forces you to fill out a separate form, Schedule DD.

I wonder how much longer he would have had had he not been told that chemo would be helpful.
One person can die who chooses to try an “alternative” and they call it quackery. Thousands die because chemos destroys the immune system, and yet this is the standard of care.

You said it. There is a wonderful movie that highlights faith … The Assisi Underground.
It’s about the role of the Catholic Church and the people of Assisi in rescuing Italian Jews from the Nazis in 1943. One of the major heroes of the story is the German officer who willfully diverts supplies, ignores clues, and finally saves the town from destruction because of his faith. It’s on VHS and DVD, but Netflix doesn’t have it.
I think it might have been based on or inspired by The Assisi Underground: The Priests Who Rescued Jews [Mass Market Paperback] by Alexander Ramati (Author) which is available used at Amazon.
I need to look into getting these for my dd. Her Confirmation saint is Francis of Assisi and she LOVED this movie when we saw it way back in our VHS rental days.
