What a flippin’ jackass. So instead of children taking care of their own parents, all taxpayers must take care of everyone else’s parents. Yeah, that’s a huge improvement. Let’s make it so parents never have to become a burden to their children — they can become a burden to other people’s children instead!
Or — here’s a revolutionary concept — people could actually, you know, stash some money in a retirement account and/or buy insurance that would guarantee they’d be cared for if/when they ever got old and unable to care for themselves.
