The NY Slime said Obama “misspoke” when he said (repeatedly) that if you like your plan you can keep it and that premiums would go down.

    Very minor point of clarification…

    It was Senator Jon Kyl (@SenJonKyl) who shook his head, but when Obama said “Jon”, the camera operator showed then-minority leader John Boehner (@SpeakerBoehner).

    One thing, Jon, you shook your head when I said that people would be able to choose the better plan because the notion was, well, people are mandated. Actually, any insurance that you currently have would be grandfathered in so you could keep it. And so you could decide not to get in the exchange the better plan — I could keep my Acme insurance, just a high-deductible catastrophic plan — I would not be required to get the better one. If I chose to get the better one, it would be 14 to 20 percent cheaper than if I were going into the individual market. I just wanted to clarify that issue.

    We all knew he was lying. It is sort of interesting to see that the press is acting all shocked. If we knew it , surely the geniuses whose job it is to tell us everything we need to know should have known. We have very few decent journalists. Was it always this way, do you think? Maybe it was, but we just didn’t have the means to fact check the fact checkers back in the day.
