They killed trees for this?!

My mom used to say, “I don’t care if a dress is marked down from $100 to $10. If I don’t like it, it’s a waste of $10.” Wise words from a very savvy financial manager. And based on this maxim, I must say … this book is a waste of a dollar. I am, however, totally enjoying the schadenfreude. ::snort::

LOL … good one, thanks pill. I like Grunt’s addition:

Dave Burge’s poem about these guys still cracks me up.

As I was measuring warming air
I met some ice that wasn’t there
      It wasn’t there again today
I wish I wish it would go away

      • Thanks! Burge really has a sense for this kind of irony. He tweeted this on the day the scientists released that kooky statement about how they “understand” why the ice was mysteriously building up here as a result of furiously disappearing everywhere else. Classic stuff.

  1. I really wish I had some Global Warming stored up for tomorrow. . . Hey, if we all burn some coal and crude oil, do you think we can ward of the “Polar Vortex”?

Minus 17 in Chicagoland, no problem:
I have a far infrared sauna. There is nothing like it! Whenever I get a little chilled. I just go in there for a few minutes. And every night before bed, I sit in it until I am sweating, and warm to the core.
      I sleep like a baby.

    • I’m burning natural gas at the moment… I doubt it will do anything to ward off the polar vortex… but it does keep my little house nice and cozy. I love weather like this — it gives me the perfect excuse to relax with a good book and a cup of tea. I’m reading “The Woman in White” by Wilkie Collins. Nothing like a good Victorian romance/mystery/ghost story!

    • Hehehe. Read it and weep. It’s midnight here in Colorado and it’s plummeted all the way down to 31 deg. Think I’ll go out without a coat and take the dog for another walk. It’s not often I can brag like this to you warm weather, low-altitude turkeys. 😀

Hee hee. I got a whiney email from Jim-bob complaining about Houston. I thought he was being a weenie, until I googled the temp. 26 really is cold for Houston. They don’t have the insulation, heating systems, or clothes for that kind of weather. So I wrote back and told him about putting powdered red pepper in your socks. Skiers up here do it because it stimulates blood flow to the feet, which helps warm you up all over. It works too.
