Wednesday: Pro-Life March in DC

I’m helping Dearest get ready for the Pro-Life March in DC. It’s challenging because they’ll be in the same clothes for 24 hours, about half on the bus, some at inside venues and the rest out on the mall … in January. And one of the venues they’re visiting doesn’t want backpacks taken inside, which means everything he wants or needs has to be worn or carried in pockets or hanging off his neck. He leaves tomorrow night and returns Wednesday night. Please pray for blessings, joy and safe travel for him and all those going to this event. Thank you.

Why will half a million people be smiling this Wednesday?

Why, as they walk in protest of one of the greatest tragedies this nation has ever known, will there be laughter? Why will there be singing? Why will there be little ones running about, teens walking arm in arm, and adults hugging, chatting, and catching up with long absent friends?

Because it’s a March for Life, which means it’s an event shot through, from first to last, with hope.

If you want to understand the March for Life, if you want to understand the pro-life movement in general, it starts with hope. That’s the key. That’s the real difference between those who oppose abortion and those who support it. The first is an act of hope. The second is an act of despair.

  1. I’m praying for safe travel for all of those attending the March for Life, and that their presence and prayers will be effective in changing hearts and minds.

    Our government was instituted to secure our Creator-endowed unalienable rights, including the right of LIFE itself.

    We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

    Our government has become destructive of the Creator-endowed, unalienable Right to Life.

    It is the Right of the People to alter our government to restore the founding principles expressed in the Declaration of Independence, and to secure the Creator-endowed, unalienable Right to Life.

    Oh, gosh. Traveling to DC requires extra prayers, which are being offered here. God bless him for participating, and you for facilitating.

      He’s on his way! We were still going yes/no about what he was wearing and taking up to the last minute, but what he left with felt right … except for the half of a half of the sandwich I made for him that Daisey “Bad Dog!” Poodle STOLE. Hopefully, that will be the first and last thing that goes wrong. 🙂
