We interrupt this program with a very important message brought to you by the staff here at 4GFC. Late last night while the world was in deep sleep or otherwise preoccupied by other matters, we were informed that a very important event had taken place.
GruntOfMonteCristo celebrated his 51′st Birthday!
We now return to regular programming. Thank you. – Knight
Open Thread, Tuesday 11 February 2014 – Happy 50th, Saracuda!

Happy Birthday, young man!

Thanks, Ting! And thanks for the echo, Chrissy! I’m an old man, now, for sure. Maybe that means I’ll get even grouchier and crankier than I was before, if that’s even possible. 😯

The opposite’s happened to me. I’m happier and more at peace now than I have ever been. I’m counting down to the big Six Oh which is …. breath-taking. I keep forgetting how old I am. Just realizing how close my next milestone is.

Glad to hear it, Chrissy. All kidding aside, I feel the same way. I think that’s a good thing.

I’m gonna be sixty this year too! How in the heck did that happen?

Should we have a joint birthday bash for you young ladies? Or is that something you’d rather not do? 🙂

I think it would be a good thing. Y’all need to have more garden parties!

You can add me to the guest list – also born in 1954. This year I may get to slide by, though, because we will be out of town for a wedding on the big day, and I would not want to overshadow the bride’s big day. That’s my talking point for now.

Happy (belated) birthday! I hope your day was special, and that you got at least a little bit spoiled. 😉

Thanks, Violet! My good wife spoiled me a lot by buying me a rifle I’d wanted for decades at Cabela’s. The best part was the look of jealousy on the faces of the staff when I was going through the process. They noticed the date on the background check and assumed it was a birthday present to me – from myself. When they found out it was from the wife, they got all bug-eyed. “Whoa, you have a good wife!” Yes. Yes, I do. 🙂
