34 points from two letters… Well Done!
I used to be proud of having gotten 31 points from “BUS” (the “B” was on the top-right Triple Word Score box, word going down, and the “S” was on the end of an opponent’s existing 15 point word, so I got (3 X 5) + (15 + 1) = 31. I thought 31 from 3 letters was good, but 34 from 2 letters is awesome!

It’s a good thing you weren’t playing with my mother – “no foreign words!” She is a stickler. And I don’t even know if she is right about that rule because I only ever play with her at the beach. So I just say “yes ma’am” and try something else!

The bottom line is that a word is acceptable if it’s in the Scrabble dictionary. It’s impossible to make an invalid word in online Scrabble, as the game is set up to automatically reject any word that is not in the dictionary.

I’m sure that you are right but the scrabble dictionary that we use is in my mother’s head! I just don’t fight it! 🙂

Haha! Buy her a print copy of the dictionary and give it to her for her birthday or something! 😀

My father and brother were always fighting about what was allowed until SCRABBLE came out with an official dictionary. (We own two for home play, where the rule is “No fighting!”)
The Christmas the dictionary came out, my brother got it for my father and the instant Pop opened it, he flipped to a specific spot and my brother LOLd, cuz the dictionary said HE was the winner of their most recent argument “it’s a word, it’s not a word” argument.
At Facebook, the dictionary is built in. If it’s allowed, it’ll play. If it isn’t, it won’t. It also has a word checker, so you can try out words before you commit.
