The link below has an embedded video that was linked to my Facebook by Canon Andrew. I believe the title in English is “The Islam State in Iraq.” It reminds me of scenes from World War II movies about Nazi atrocities. I found the photo above at a different site, but it seems to be a scene from the video.

Don’t think I can watch that one, at least not for a while. I just got done watching “Downfall,” about the last days of Hitler and his gang of thugs (the movie that all the Hitler parody videos are based on). It was exceptionally well done, and it’s an excellent history lesson… but it was extremely graphic and bloody — which it could hardly avoid being, since it’s historically accurate. I have rather a weak stomach, so my tolerance for blood and gore and gratuitous sociopathic sadism is limited.

I know what you mean. Staged violence is harder for me than actual carnage. Don’t know why, except that filmmakers can add even more elements to sadism than is found in real life. When it’s real, I think God gives you little signs and consolations that the filmmaker can totally exclude, and that makes it so much more horrific. Just seems that way to me, anyway.

The thing that struck me most was not the carnage, but the casual attitude of those perpetrating it.

Exactly. The unmistakable mark of a sociopath.
