First, let me wish a happy 68th birthday to a First Lady with poise, grace and class. Remember them? They were content to be supportive wives and mothers. What we’re stuck with now is a rude, nasty, entitlement queen with the grace of a camel and reeking of french fries.
After I finished my paper route this morning I stayed up long enough to go and exercise my right to cast an intelligent, informed vote. I feel good that I was able to cancel out one of the many illegal votes cast in this state. We got to the polling place at 6:03 and there was already a crowd. I don’t know if you can read anything into that but midterms normally don’t generate this much early enthusiasm.
As you may suspect,I have so many things today I could set a record for the longest thread on this blog. I will,of course, practice restraint to the best of my limited ability.

MSNBC Pre-Spins Midterm Disaster: Dems Didn’t Tout Obama’s Successes

: It’s because the party didn’t tout Barack Obama’s “accomplishments.” Host Ronan Farrow on Monday complained: “But, if these Democratic candidates are just flouting the President and at a time when he faces a tough environment on the hill already, sort of adding to his woes, do they risk alienating Democratic voters with that kind of divisiveness?”

Michelle Obama Goes Full-Racist: Blacks Must Blindly Vote For Democrats Regardless Of What They Say Or Do…

Monday on TV One, a cable channel who’s programming is geared for African-American adults, first lady Michelle Obama told Roland Martin the candidate on the ballot and what they say or do should not matter to African-Americans because voting for a straight Democratic ticket best serves their communities.
The first lady said, “Thats my message to voters, this isn’t about Barack, It’s not about person on that ballot, its about you, and for most of the people we are talking to, a Democratic ticket is the clear ticket that we should be voting on regardless of who said what or did this, that shouldn’t even come into the equation.”

She did, however, through her awesome imperiousness, grant special dispensation to the plantation dwellers to eat fried chicken….(after they vote,of course)
First Lady Michelle Obama made light of her food-Nazi persona, granting permission to eat fried chicken as a reward for voting Tuesday and to celebrate a Democratic Party victory.
Obama gave her fried chicken blessing during an interview Monday with Roland Martin on News One for Black America

Martin: So can we, if we go out to the polls, can we say, we have ‘souls to the polls’ on Sunday, can we do ‘soul food after we vote’?
Obama: Absolutely, I give everyone full permission to eat some fried chicken after they vote only after—if you haven’t voted…(laughter.)

Daily Show Co-Founder Blames Wendy Davis Defeat on ‘Redistricting’ and ‘Media’
“I think part of it is that redistricting is redistricting…But I do think that with Texas, the media has a lot to do with it.”
Winstead believes that Davis’ epic fall from grace and abysmal ratings among Texans is because of “redistricting” and the media.
What makes her poor excuses for Davis’ downfall so hilarious is two fold. The first is redistricting. When it comes to statewide elections such as the Gubernatorial race, which Davis is running in, re-districting doesn’t come into play. The entire state votes for either a republican or democrat. It does not matter where the voting lines of certain counties fall.
The second excuse, the media angle, is also quite entertaining. According to EgbertoWillies.com, most major Texas newspapers have endorsed Davis and not her republican opponent, Greg Abbott.

REPORT: ELECTION-EVE BOMBSHELL MEMO EMBROILS JEANNE SHAHEEN IN IRS TARGETING SCANDAL

Conservative groups here are outraged at a memo that surfaced hours before the polls open—a memo that suggests that incumbent Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH) personally coordinated with the IRS’s Lois Lerner to use the tax agency’s power to target conservative groups.
“The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) did not want to publicly release 2012 correspondences exchanged between the IRS and Jeanne Shaheen at her personal Washington office: the agency delayed releasing the information to a major conservative super PAC multiple times, even threatening to see the super PAC in court, according to emails,” Howley wrote in what appears to be a bombshell story published late Monday evening, hours before the polls open here in a brutal election battle between Shaheen and former Sen. Scott Brown.
They’ve had so much experience at cheating they’re really good at it.

Mia Love Tries to Be the First Black Republican Woman in Congress
White, white, white. In nearly every room Love enters as she stumps her way across Utah’s 4th District on a quest to become the first black female Republican in Congress, she is not just the only black person there. She’s the only person of any color, unless you count farmer tans.
The Grand Old Party is tripping over itself to welcome her to Washington. She tells voters in stump speeches that Republican leaders have all but promised “you get yourself in, we will put you wherever you feel like you can be the most effective.”
Love’s campaign manager and the godfather of Utah politics, Dave Hansen, has warned her that the moment she takes office, the Republican National Committee will do its best to drag her all across America, showing her off as living proof that this is no longer the party of Old White Men.

Startling Change in North Carolina Early Voting Pattern
There is one set of numbers in this breakdown of North Carolina early voting that really jumps out. This year 52.2% of early voters in North Carolina were age 60 or over. In 2012, that percentage was 35.5%. Young voters were scarce among early voters this election. In 2012, 13.2 percent of the early voters were ages 18-29. This year the percentage fell to 5.1%, while there was a drop from 21.8 to 13.7% in the age 30-44 age bracket.

Election Day reminder: Early exit polls are meaningless
We’ll know fairly early how things are going to go,with New Hampshire,North Carolina and Georgia all closing earliest.if the democarts hold two,we’re in trouble. If the networks hold off as long as possible before calling any race for the republican it might be a good night.
In the end, though, the completed exit polling only gives us a short-lived sneak peek at potential results. Within a couple of hours in most states, we’ll get the actual results anyway. The best course is to be patient, but in any case, don’t put any value in exit polling until those data sets are complete.

Midterm Media Bias Scorecard
Assuming Republicans win control of the Senate and make gains in the House, you could reasonably expect an unbiased press to say things like:
• “The elections completed a broad realignment of power in Washington and created a new political climate.”
• “They reflected deep dissatisfaction with the president.”
• “Voters delivered a stinging rebuke of the president and his party.”
• “It was an astonishing turnabout at the hands of unhappy voters, and it was a rout once considered almost inconceivable.”
• “It dramatically alters the government’s balance of power.”
• “It marked an astonishing resurgence for (a party that) just two years ago seemed adrift in the wilderness.”
These are, after all, the very words reporters used at the New York Times, the Washington Post, CNN, and other news outlets the last time midterm elections were held in the second term of an unpopular president. But in 2006, George W. Bush was in the White House, and it was Democrats who took Congress after winning 27 seats in the House and seven in the Senate.
Should Republicans win control — and possibly win more Senate seats than Democrats did in 2006 — will the press tell it like it is? Or will they try to explain it away? Wring their hands about gridlock? Blame it all on secret campaign donations? Say it had nothing to do with Obama’s unpopularity, much less his policies?

He added, “Any analysis that you do is different than the analysis that you would do on a true national election.”

Some real Oklahoma-style excitement at our polling place today.
About 7am, a cattle truck ran off the highway. Reports vary from 39 (probably) to 79 (a lot in one truck) cattle involved. Four killed instantly, a dozen had to be euthanized. Many escaped, and had firefighters playing cowboy to round ’em up. Not sure of the condition of the driver and passenger, taken to the hospital.
I read about it in a local news site. Then we went to vote, around 11am, we discover this happened just south of the South entrance to our polling place. Fortunately, we came at it from the North, so we got in and out with no problem. Actually, easier than normal, since traffic from the south was slow.
The poll watchers said there had been one cow wandering through the parking lot, followed by somebody with a bucket of oats.
