MY 1000TH POST!!

February 24,2011. A date that will live in internet infamy. It’s been a long, sometimes difficult, sometimes joyful road. This blog has been my link to the outside world since I don’t have much contact with anyone aside from my family. I have the time to research and post volumes of information and I enjoy doing it. You all are the best friends I’ll never meet. Lord willing,we’ll all be together for a long time to come. God bless all of you who stop by here.

Debbie Wasserman Schultz post-election autopsy video
Well, that didn’t take long. A few days ago, Debbie Wasserman Schultz put out a 2-minute-and-52-second video assuring Democrats that the party is going to put together a blue ribbon panel to analyze, pick apart, study, dissect, review, explore, ponder, reflect, and otherwise determine just what went wrong on Election Day.

Joe Biden Says the U.S. and Israel Are Friends. And Sometimes Friends Fight

The vice president tried to clear the air in an address to Jewish Federations of North America Monday.
this is not two friends fighting. This is about a bunch of anti-semites who want Israel to allow themselves to be slaughtered by bloodthirsty Muslim pigs.
Nearly two weeks after a senior Obama administration official called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “a chickenshit” in an interview with The Atlantic’s Jeffrey Goldberg, Biden attempted to play down the scuffles that have characterized the leaders’ relationship in recent months. He described the two countries’ rapport clearly in his signature, colloquial style.

APEC Summit Reveals Chill Between Obama and Putin
Barack Obama is on the sideline as Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladamir Putin chat at the APEC Summit in China.

A couple of brief encounters between U.S. President Barack Obama and Russian President Vladimir Putin during the APEC summit in Beijing spoke volumes about the chilly state of relations between the U.S. and Russia.

Stay Classy, Liberals: Gov. Rick Perry Gets Anal Sex Questions At Dartmouth
    This is beyond disgusting.

This is liberalism at its finest. Get really angry with someone who holds views different from your own, and then berate that person with hyper-emotional drivel.
When Perry opened up discussion to the audience, several students posed questions, deriding Perry’s views on same-sex marriage.
Emily Sellers ’15 asked if Perry would have anal sex in exchange for campaign contributions of $102 million, while Timothy Messen ’18 accused the governor of comparing homosexuality to alcoholism.

Obama To Defy Voters And Focus On Amnesty

There are several reasons why Republican leaders don’t want President Obama to use unilateral executive action to legalize millions of illegal immigrants. First, House and Senate GOP leaders oppose bypassing Congress on principle. Second, they disagree with the policy. And third — perhaps most importantly — they know voters want lawmakers to focus on the economy.
he has nothing but contempt for republicans, democrats and the American people who have entrusted him with their well-being.

Sadie Robertson Was in Tears After Her Latest ‘DWTS’ Performance — and Just Watch What the Judges Had to Say
Sadie Robertson returned to the “Dancing With the Stars” ballroom Monday night to deliver two exuberant dances, with the second performance — and the judges’ reactions — leaving her in tears.

Dancing the jive and then the foxtrot, the “Duck Dynasty” star elicited two very different responses from the judges, who collectively gave a lukewarm assessment to Robertson’s first dance with partner Mark Ballas.

“It wasn’t my favorite dance, but you have one more coming up,” said judge Julianne Hough, as the audience booed her commentary.

The other judges praised elements of the jive, but delivered similar sentiment, giving her only a 33 out of a possible 40.

    Watch that performance below:

But after Robertson returned to the dance floor for a second time to perform a foxtrot with Ballas and professional dancer Emma Slater, the judges sang a very different tune.

“That was the best trio of the night … fantastic!” judge Len Goodman told Robertson. “I wish I had an 11 paddle!”

And Bruno Tonioli added, “Movie star stunning … I couldn’t tell who was the professional!”

Robertson admitted, though, that she “forgot the last part” of the dance and had to improvise. Regardless, she scored a perfect 40 for this latter performance.

    Oh,the humanity!
News is so sparse today that bovines running amok on a college campus made this thread.
Try to imagine my shame and embarrasement.

Cows Bust Loose On LSU Campus, Explore Sorority Row
The grade-A prime cowfuffle began outside LSU’s Parker Coliseum, a 6,700-seat campus arena which mainly host livestock shows, rodeos and concerts.

The cows belonged to chapters of a 4-H Youth Development Organization and Future Farmers of America.

Reading into the story then seeing the pictures, these are not ordinary cows.Actually, they’re Brahmas. You know, the breed they ride in rodeos.

Charlie Rangel: I Called Tea Party ‘White Crackers’ As ‘Term Of Endearment’

But host Marc Lamont Hill then pushed Rangel on comments he made in 2013, calling the Tea Party “white crackers.” ”I thought that was a term of endearment,” he explained.

Even Hill laughed out loud at that. “You thought ‘cracker’ was a term of endearment?”

Rangel then preceded to give perhaps the most backhanded apologies of all time: “They’re so proud of their heritage and all the things they believe in. I can tell you this: with all of the feelings I have against the people, that have been against justice, fair play and equality, and the freedoms as we know it. If I offended them for calling them a ‘white cracker,’ I apologize. For the rest of it, there’s a lot that has to be done here.”

7 Reasons Net Neutrality Is A Dumb Idea by Ben Shapiro at Breitbart

Surprise again! I’m with Shapiro on this.

At the “office,” we have had cable for decades. Service has “improved” in our neighborhood, and the cable company makes frantic efforts to get us to “upgrade” to a faster speed which would be really great.

However, what they don’t say is, with the “upgrade,” we have a data cap and pay extra above that. With our old, grandfathered throttled-speed connection, though, one flat fee, unlimited data. I figure they hate us, but it’s our choice.

  19. Co-President Michelle Obama’s school lunch program. Nutritious, delicious, and oh-so-filling.

I would almost suspect these photos at Pundit Press are faked, you know, some items removed to make it look even worse than it is. A banana and what looks like a scoop of salsa, or something? But, reality keeps surpassing parody.

  20. What would you say is the most remarkable thing of this photo of Obama faking planting a tree in China?

Someone apparently clued him in as to which is the “working end” of the shovel.

  22. Father Vince Lampert, an exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis, said, “There has been a greater demand for people to call and talk to exorcists. From a faith perspective it may seem like the devil has upped his game, so to speak. I don’t think the devil has upped his game, but more people are inclined to play that game… Demonic possession is a possibility. It could happen but it’s extremely rare.”

    William Bigelow at Breitbart

First, I intensely dislike Breitbart the website. If I don’t have plug-ins and javascript turned off, you get ads, pop-ups, and all kinds of clutter which my poor old WinXP box can barely handle. That said, it’s because I had js and plug-ins turned on when I loaded this page that I discovered there was a video; without js and plug-ins, there is no clue of a video. Also, the video is auto-play and starts with an ad. So, horrible website all around. But, I didn’t miss the video.

The video is a Fox News report. Much of it is tedious or sensationalistic, but worth watching for the parts with Father Vince Lampert, an exorcist for the Archdiocese of Indianapolis.

I’ve long known about, and greatly appreciate, the approach described in the article and video, regarding the Church’s approach to possession. Eminently reasonable to assume what seems like possession is a chemical or psychological problem, but never ruling out the possibility of the real thing. And knowing how to tell the difference.

There was a time in my yoot I would probably have dismissed the whole concept of Devil and demons, at least as popularly conceived. Fortunately, that stage didn’t last long. My realization (reading them ol’ Gospels in the KJV) of the reality of Jesus, and the reality of his declaring himself the Son of God demanded that I choose whether he was a mostly cool teacher with a nutty streak, or the sanest man ever. Evidence favored the latter. Likewise, after reading about Jesus dealing with the Devil and with possession, and realizing, this was history, not myth, and not legend tipped in with the truth, but the real thing, I began to try to understand more about that aspect, too.

[As sometimes happens when I’m writing here, I rambled on for ‘way too many subsequent paragraphs for a comment, so I cut the whole thing. Pasted to a file, though. Might be useful. 🙂 ]

    • Good comment, Mindful. I recently had a really good email exchange with Plain Jane from iOTW about a recent exorcism that happened in her parish in northern Indiana. The exorcism was successful, but controversial, and the subject now lives in Indianapolis, so I guess she’s Fr. Lampert’s problem now. 😉 It was a big deal at the time (2012, I think), involving hospital staff confirming patient walking on the ceiling and demonic voices and the like, and it sure looks like that kind of thing is getting more common. Heaven help us.
