Please … get ready for the Rapture!

1982 years ago* this week, Jesus took His closest disciples up the Mount of Olives for one last in-depth teaching.  Where the Sermon on the Mount (Matt 5-7) dealt with how to live here, the Olivet Discourse dealt with how to prepare for the Rapture, Great Tribulation and Final Judgment.

Jesus said, “All the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming upon the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he will send out his angels with a trumpet blast, and they will gather His elect.

“As it was in the days of Noah and on the day when Lot left Sodom, so it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.  Two men will be out in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left.

“On that day, remember the wife of Lot.  A person who is on the housetop and whose belongings are in the house must not go down to get them, and likewise a person in the field must not return to what was left behind.

“Stay awake, for you do not know on which day your Lord will come.”

(Compiled from Matt 24:30-31, 37, 40-42, Luke 17:29-33)

N.b., We can be certain that the gathering of Jesus’ elect is a distinct event from the gathering of all souls for Final Judgment (see Matt 25: 31ff).   Here, Jesus says He will come upon the clouds, send out His angels, and invite only some to escape the coming disasters like Noah and Lot.  At Final Judgment, He says He will be on His throne with His angels gathered about Him and that all the living and the dead will be required to attend.

I think the Rapture could be very soon.  This week is the Medjugorje anniversary** of the Crucifixion and Resurrection; the branches of the fig become tender and grow leaves in April (Matt 24:32).  Please, BEG God to put you on the list of His elect, so when He comes in the clouds and sends his angels, you’ll be offered the chance to escape like Noah and Lot did.  You really don’t want to be here for what’s coming.

There’s No Deterring an Apocalyptic Nuclear Iran by Thomas Sowell – March 31, 2015
“Clearing the way for Iran to get nuclear bombs may — probably will — be the most catastrophic decision in human history.”

CtH, I’m heartened when you refer to King Putt as an (or the) AntiChrist. There’s no doubt in my mind that’s what’s going on here, but only two or three Christian-leaning sites seem to be on board with this.

There is literally no other way to explain this demonic Socialist coming out of nowhere … no one is even sure he was born of woman … and seizing the reins of America, our earthly plane’s last remaining bastion of freedom.

Two of his three names reflect America’s greatest enemies, and his views on infanticide alone guarantee the Pit. God’s doing everything but buying a half-hour of prime airtime to reveal the truth to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see.

TY. I had my ah ha moment years ago when I was puzzling about how the hot button issues settle into Left or Right. Some things don’t make sense, if you apply traditional liberal (the kind I grew up with) standards. But when I thought about the Word of God, then I found 100% coincidence. If God hates it, the Left is all for it.

And yes, the only way to account for Obama’s meteoric rise to power is if you recognize that Satan is behind it and God is allowing it. So I say again … BE READY FOR THE RAPTURE.

  2. I just want to point out that I agree with Chrissy that there’s something frighteningly serious and portentous about this Holy Week. We have all been expecting the snot to hit the fan for about 4 years now, and we’ve had an unexpected respite from those expectations, but only the very foolish would assume that Obama’s chickens will never come home to roost, simply because they’ve been delayed in roosting.

Also, just because I wrote a humor piece today does not mean that I take the ominous warnings less seriously. I do not. I agree with Chrissy that the predicted tribulations (from Revelations and elsewhere) are upon us and Biblical events are imminent. Unlike Chrissy, I do not expect or hope for the events of this week or this spring to include an early gathering of believers into Heaven. It could happen, and it would be preferable to what awaits us in coming months, but I rather expect something more along the lines of war, famine and death for all of us who do not die sooner rather than later. It’s grim, I know, but whatever happens, I look forward to facing it with brave loved ones who also eagerly await the final defeat of the evil that has tormented us for so long, however long it takes.

And Chrissy, I DO pray as you ask. You are right to pray for yourself and your loved ones (including us) to be spared what’s coming. Jesus, Himself, did as much during his suffering. We’ll keep it up, whatever happens.

I doubt it is necessary to believe in the Rapture, merely to be ready to go when the Lord calls … which is something every Christian should do daily, since you never know when you’ll die, right?

In the part of the Olivet Discourse that I quote above, that I believe is talking about the Rapture, Jesus mentions Noah. I doubt very much that every single one of Noah’s family really BELIEVED there would be a flood. But they helped and they got on the Ark with him anyway.

If we don’t get Raptured this month, I’ll get over it. I may need copious amounts of chocolate, but it won’t harm my faith in God’s goodness or, for that matter, my belief that Jesus is going to scoop his elect out of here when it suits His purpose to do so.

      • Dangit, Chrissy! I can’t have chocolate until Sunday. And if you’re right about this week, I may NEVER get chocolate again. Unless… what mortal sins can I find this week… 😀 Chocolate is a serious temptation.

Are you kidding me?! We’re going to get glorified bodies and be given a NEW EARTH to live in forever and there will be everything GOOD there … which means the chocolate will taste better than we can imagine! 🙂

          • Ok, I’m sold. But that’s pretty sneaky – using chocolate to evangelize. I’m more used to a Hellfire and Brimstone Gospel message. But Chrissy’s Dark Ganache and Mascarpone Gospel message might just be effective! 🙂
