She’s watching some Tom and Jerry cartoons on dvd, we played the tickle game and grandma is fixing her spaghetti-os for lunch. Afterward she’ll curl up, as she always does, next to her grandma. It’s always been her safe place. That’s something we all need, no matter how old we are.
In the midst of everything we have to deal with as adults there’s nothing like an ailing 8 year old to keep things in perspective.

A Chinese businessman accused of illegally funneling foreign money to the Democratic National Committee ahead of Bill Clinton’s reelection in 1996 has been arrested for sneaking upwards of $4.5 million into the United States.
Though never ultimately charged, Ng played a role in the “Donorgate” scandal before the 1996 elections that resulted in Clinton ally Charlie Trie pleading guilty to violating campaign finance laws in 1999.
Ng transferred approximately $1.4 million to Trie, also a Chinese businessman, who then gave the funds to the DNC before Bill Clinton’s reelection.

A black teenager who accused a city bus driver of racism for demanding his fare was captured in video punching the woman in the face, then fleeing from the bus
The clip was captured on a Davenport, Iowa, Citibus camera, and showed the boy following a group of other teens onto the bus. Unlike the others, however, he was unable to produce a student ID, so the driver required him to pay the fare, according to WQAD.
