From Daniel Bongino’s FB page:
“The Democrats are taking yet another electoral drubbing at the polls tonight and President Obama’s legacy of historic down-ballot failures remains untouched. He has now lost his party’s hold on governorships, state houses, local offices, the U.S. Senate and House.
“No Democratic President in modern American history has selfishly done more to advance his own political interests, while simultaneously destroying his political party’s future. That’s a fact.”

Democrats Credit ‘Trump-Mania’ for Matt Bevin’s Shock Victory in Kentucky Governor Race

The Executive Director of the Democratic Governors Association, Elisabeth Pearson, issued a statement Tuesday night crediting Donald Trump with creating the political conditions of ‘outsider’ popularity that allowed Republican Matt Bevin to win the Kentucky governor’s race over Democrat candidate Jack Conway.
“With help from national Republicans he has repeatedly shunned, Bevin was able to overcome a campaign of missteps and self-inflicted wounds to become the first Republican governor since Ernie Fletcher and only the second since Louie Nunn left office in 1971.
“Bevin was able to defy pundits, political insiders and polling — including one released by his own campaign in October that showed him losing — and emerge a winner Tuesday night.”
A late report at InsiderLouisville.com had Bevin crushing Conway by eight points, 52 to 44, with 93 percent of the vote counted.

McAuliffe’s hopes for Senate majority dashed

I’M REMINDED OF A SAYING FROM THE VIET NAM WAR ERA:WE WON ALL THE BATTLES,BUT WE LOST THE WAR.
Republicans held onto the Virginia Senate in fiercely contested elections Tuesday, leaving Gov. Terry McAuliffe without legislative leverage or political momentum as he works to deliver Virginia for his friend and ally Hillary Rodham Clinton in 2016.
The outcome was a blunt rebuke to McAuliffe (D), who had barnstormed the state with 24 events over the past four days and who portrayed the elections as a make-or-break moment for his progressive agenda.

Election 2015: Harmon’s upset of Edelen stunning in Republican surge
FRANKFORT — Kentucky Republicans didn’t settle for Matt Bevin’s win in the governor’s race; the GOP scored a major upset with Mike Harmon defeating Democratic incumbent auditor Adam Edelen.
Harmon, who was widely outspent, won 52 percent of the vote, throwing up a roadblock to Edelen’s future ambitions, perhaps as a challenger next year to U.S. Sen. Rand Paul.
Edelen is considered Kentucky Democrats’ rising star and best politician, in the mold of populists like Wendell Ford. He ran on a strong record of exposing wasteful spending by special taxing districts, a former commissioner of agriculture and auditing public schools.

Ohio votes down legalizing pot for medical, recreational use

COLUMBUS, Ohio –
Ohio voters have rejected a ballot measure seeking to legalize recreational and medical marijuana use in the state.
Failure of the proposed constitutional amendment follows an expensive campaign, a legal fight over its ballot wording and an investigation into the proposal’s petition signatures.
The measure known as Issue 3 on Tuesday’s ballot would have allowed adults 21 and older to use, purchase or grow certain amounts of marijuana. The constitutional amendment would have established a regulatory and taxation scheme while creating a network of 10 growing facilities.
Those growing sites also were targeted in a separate ballot question aimed at preventing monopolies from being inserted into Ohio’s constitution for the economic benefits of a few.

Houston Equal Rights Ordinance fails by wide margin

POOR SALLY FIELD

The hotly contested election has spurred national attention, drawing comment from the White House and the state’s top officials. Largely conservative opponents of the law allege that it would allow men dressed as women, including sexual predators, to enter women’s restrooms. Supporters of the law, including Mayor Annise Parker, argue that it extends an important local recourse for a range of protected classes to respond to discrimination.
