You may have been wondering (but probably not) why there wasn’t a Christmas post with some of my favorite music videos, as has been my wont for the last four years. Sometime between when I left for work last Wednesday and when I got home the video component of the Univac machine lapsed into a coma and the screen would not light up. I have confessed numerous times that I’m a total incompetent when it comes to all things electronic-related. For three days the black screen just stared, mocking my pain. The internet is my only connection to world events and I seemed to have been as addicted to it as many are to their stupid cell phones.
Friday a co-worker brought me a spare monitor he had and after a beautiful Christmas dinner I pressed my stepson into service connecting it to my erstwhile unit. Nothing happened. So he reconnected my old monitor and lo and behold, it started working. He fiddled with the mouse and said that may have been the problem. Saturday as I dressed for work dW came in to check her Facebook page, since it’s the only thing she does to keep up with her family. After about 10 minutes it crashed. I have no clue what an AMD driver is, but they stopped working. It will happen again.
I priced new computer towers and they are extremely expensive and all now use Windows 10 as an operating system, which I want no part of. The only recourse is to get a refurbished unit with Windows 7 installed and keep it as a backup. Otherwise my life with the internet will come to an end when this machine breathes its last, since I don’t have a tech guy anymore. I managed three days without committing a felony and developed a deep appreciation for cable television. Since my illness three years ago I’ve been living on borrowed time and my relationship with the interwebs is in the same condition.

The president can be heard — but not seen — supposedly answering a White House phone in a YouTube trailer posted Monday, but a Crackle press release photo appears to show Obama sharing a laugh with Seinfeld. Astute fans of Seinfeld’s conversational series will note that, unlike previous “Coffee” installments that feature the host doubling as a chauffeur, the photo relating to the Obama episode shows both the host and guest as passengers in a vehicle emblazoned with a presidential seal.

I actually agree with Trump on Trey Gowdy. He wants to be a federal judge, and I read all about this before the hearings began. He does not in any way want to come across as too “extreme” and wants to be a GOP team player so that he will not have any problems with confirmation hearings. He does not want to be the next Bork, so he is treading a fine line between giving conservatives what they want to hear and see and maintaining a sense of proportion for those who don’t want anything to come from these hearings, including many in the GOP establishment.

Obamas extend Kwanzaa greetings
President Obama and first lady extended their “warmest wishes” to those celebrating Kwanzaa, the week-long holiday as it began Saturday.
TOO BAD HE HATES CHRISTIANS
“Today begins a week-long celebration of African-American heritage and culture through family and community festivities,” the couple said in a statement.
“Kwanzaa’s seven principles – unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity and faith – are also shared values that bind us as Americans.”
The festival, which was first celebrated in 1966, runs through Jan. 1. Families celebrate by decorating their homes with traditional African art, lighting candles and giving gifts.
“In the spirit of the season, we reflect on the blessings of the past year and commit to building a brighter future for all our children,” the Obamas said.

Virginia Senator Pushes Amendment to Defund Governor Terry McAuliffe’s Protective Detail
Virginia state senator Bill Carrico (R-Dist. 40) is responding to Governor Terry McAuliffe’s (D) relentless gun control push by introducing a budget amendment to remove funding for McAuliffe’s protection detail.
Carrico said, “If he’s so afraid of guns, then I’m not going to surround him with armed state policemen.”
Moreover, on October 15, McAuliffe issued an executive order banning the open carry of firearms in state buildings used by the Virginia executive branch and calling for enforcement to ensure that the only people “in the business” of selling guns in Virginia are those with a Federal Firearm License (FFL).
Virginia GOP’ers returned fire over the state Democrat Attorney General Mark Herring’s move to halt recognition of concealed carry permits from 25 different states.
“Our General Assembly has already identified who can and cannot conceal handguns in Virginia, and we cannot have that decision undermined by recognizing permits from other states with more permissive standards,”Herring said when he made the announcement last week.

Whoops … I read your computer problem post at the time, then went to the bottom to post my “glad you’re okay” comment. Reading the middle now and adding prayers for your heart. I hope all y’all have some spill over on the heart thing. I’ve been dealing with a flare up of my illness for several months now with only a day or two break here and there. My heart is really stressed out. I woke up this morning and realized the bed of my ring finger nail is purple. It got better after I took my meds, but purple is not a good sign. Oh well … God gave me 2 days off from symptoms to enjoy my kids and grandkids for Christmas! It’s so good to play toys and cuddle a baby again!

I have to agree with Trump about Gowdy. Like Ryan, Rubio is not the conservative he seemed to be, and Gowdy accomplished nothing with the hearings. At least Trump didn’t criticize Gowdy’s hair!!!

You know, 1000 to 2000 attackers doesn’t sound like a mob to me. Sounds more like an army. This is war. And a rather lopsided one at this point.
