WELL DARN: After reading the following, I literally went through my entire CD collection trying to find a Streisand CD to ceremonial throw away. I thought I had one, but maybe I threw it away the last time she said something this horrible.
Streisand seemed sympathetic to Michael Jackson, saying, “His sexual needs were his sexual needs, coming from whatever childhood he has or whatever DNA he has.”
And while she admits he did molest children, she didn’t think it did them all that much damage, because, you know, they got to hang with Michael Jackson! Also, “it didn’t kill them.”
Within hours of her bizarre remarks being publicized, she walked back on them, talking about the lifelong pain of childhood sexual abuse and the culpability of the parents. Whatever, Babs. I still wish I had a CD of yours to throw away!

On March 15th, an anti-immigrant white man, who wanted to send a message to the world, killed 50 people inside a mosque in New Zealand.

On March 20th, a pro-immigrant black man, who also wanted to send a message, kidnapped and tried to immolate 50 children on a school bus near Milan, Italy.

According to the European media, a school bus driver who migrated from Senegal several years ago hijacked his bus-full of middle school children, forced the three school chaperones to handcuff the children with plastic ties, then took off on the highway, ramming into cars along the way.
When he was stopped by a police barricade, he set fire to the bus which he had previously doused with fuel. Luckily the police were able to break the bus windows and free the students. No one was seriously injured but several children suffered shock, bruises and smoke inhalation.
The bus driver told the panicked children that what he was doing was revenge for his own three children who had died while crossing the Mediterranean in an attempt to get to Italy.
He told police that he was retaliating for the thousands of migrants who had drowned in the sea crossing in recent years.

He has withheld the results, which were, in short, that “there is no historical evidence that in the patristics women were ordained as deacons.”
I am a devout Catholic, but dang, I am so underwhelmed by this pope. I follow climate denier news and read that the leaders of the movement, like Lord Monckton, had made a big effort to present their evidence to Pope Francis while he was preparing the encyclical, Laudato Si. He wouldn’t see them. The encyclical stated his belief that man-made climate change is real and of urgent importance. This withholding of a report sounds like more of the same. Don’t like the message? Plug ears and sing “Neener neener neener” very loudly. ::sigh::
OHIO: On Thursday, Planned Parenthood locations across Ohio received notice from the Ohio Department of Health that their state funding will end next month.
The notice comes following a federal appeals court ruling this month that upheld a 2016 Ohio law forbidding the state from sending preventive health funding to any organization, or affiliate of an organization, that “performs or promotes” non-therapeutic abortions. The law was signed by former Gov. John Kasich.

Parkland “survivor” suicides: Does this number exceed that at comparable-size schools or is it just news because they’re “survivors”? We are having an ‘epidemic’ of teen suicides, school shooters aside.
(I don’t think I’d suffer “survivor’s guilt.” At least, not after all I’ve already survived. I’m just grateful to see another day. So far.)

The gal cutting up the old guy’s dinner (my hands hurt in sympathy with him) is a nice story, and how nice the unexpected returns for her, but it’s a problem and a kind of a caution. Problem is, imitators who want to cash in on such public sympathy and generosity. Caution is, “do your good deeds in secret” now includes checking in all directions for cell cams.
