BORDER: Celebrating 100 miles of new and improved border wall completed since the beginning of the Trump administration.

IMPEACHMENT and SPYGATE: [4:22]I didn’t know Dean Cain was hosting on a Fox news show. Super, man!

2020_01 13 New York

NEW YORK: The new No Bail law is already proving to be just as awful as opponents predicted One guy who was arrested after robbing four banks was released … so he went and robbed another bank. He was overheard laughing about how they let him go. Top left: Bank surveillance photo.

Another guy was arrested for punching a 23-year-old woman in the face so hard that two of her teeth were knocked out, after which he punched a 35-year-old woman and kicked her in the back of her head. Despite having at least four prior arrests for criminal trespassing, forcible touching, and resisting arrest, the man was released a few hours without bail. Top right: He walked out, grinning.

I expect the crime rate in New York to begin rising exponentially by the end of the month. I wonder if it’s legal for the victims of these secondary crimes can legally sue the idiots in Albany who passed this insane law.

AUSTRALIA: The sails of the Sydney Opera House have lit up with touching images of volunteer firefighters in support of bush fire affected communities.

2020_01 13 relax

RELAXING ON PURPOSE: Your nervous system has two modes – normal (relaxed, good for rest, repair, digestion) and stressed (tense, good for fighting or fleeing). Common, modern-day stressors put many of us into chronic stress mode, which does tremendous damage long-term. It’s important for us to learn how to kick it back.

New scientific studies have shown that longer exhalations are an easy way to stimulate the vagus nerve, combat fight-or-flight stress responses, and improve HRV (Heart Rate Variability – the healthy fluctuation in beat-to-beat intervals).

CANCER: An Israeli company, Alpha Tau Medical, is in the clinical trial phase of a treatment that destroys aggressive tumors while sparing healthy tissue while minimizing side-effects.

The Alpha DaRT technology, invented by two professors from Tel Aviv University, has proven effective in humans for aggressive local, radiation-resistant and recurrent tumors of the skin and head & neck. In test cases, 100% experienced tumor shrinkage, while an astonishing 78% experienced total tumor destruction.

In addition, the procedure requires only one minimally-invasive outpatient procedure. The total treatment lasts only two weeks, during which time the patient can be at home and live their life normally.

2020_01 08 A typing tutor

GRAMMY NOTES: Awwwwwwwww! I took typing in summer school and it was, hands down, the single most practical and useful class I ever took. When personal computers began to be a thing, I bought a typing tutor program for my girls and forced them to do it for 10 minutes a day, every day, until they were proficient.

Mama Buzz just got one for the mascots. As a mom, I feel gratified that she thinks what I did was worth repeating. As a grandmother, I feel old for having taken typing lessons from a live person. But then … I also walked two miles a day to school. True, it was only up hill one way … but it was a really steep hill!
