CORONAVIRUS: From Patricia McCarthy at American Thinker When President Trump six weeks ago banned travelers from China, they called him a racist, of course.  Now that the virus has spread, they are blaming him, accusing him of an anemic response. …

Wrong.  The country has a pandemic plan in place, no matter who is president, but Trump has been on the case since China informed the world of the virus breakout.  A task force to address this virus has been in place for at least a month.

They’ve accused Trump of cutting the budget of the CDC and NIH.  Even AP shows that he did not.  He had proposed some cuts, but they never went into effect, and there is a standing congressional fund for health emergencies.

But the Democrats do not care about facts; they live for any crisis they can weaponize for an assault on the president.  They are as shameless as they are calculating.  As always, they believe they can fool the American people and that their lies will not be exposed.”

At Legal Insurrection, a biochemist analyzed Trump’s presser about the COVID-19 outbreak. Link below.

USA Today reports the first U.S. coronavirus patient has recovered. Nearly 800 Americans are under watch. This is far fewer than the number who have died from the disease in China, where the outbreak is so severe, the Chinese erected an entire hospital just to deal with the sick.

HAND SANITIZERS: Alcohol-based, commercial hand sanitizers are not particularly effective and can damage your health. Here is a safe, effective alternative.

Mix together, then pour into a spray bottle or a pump type bottle. Shake before applying:

  • 1/4 cup Aloe Vera Gel
  • 10 Drops of Tea Tree Oil
  • 10 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil
  • 8 drops Cinnamon Essential Oil

If you’re allergic to aloe, you can use coconut oil as a carrier. It is non-staining and readily absorbed through the skin. I recommend springing for the more expensive fractionated variety, which hasn’t got any little lumps in it. You can find it at Amazon and any site that sells essential oils. Ditto the bottles.

My two top recommendations for essential oil dealers are Aromathyme.com and PlantTherapy.com.

2020_02 29 mumps

VACCINES: Summit County, Colorado, has 26 confirmed cases of mumps. Twenty-four are employees at the same ski resort. Mumps can be very dangerous, even fatal, in adults.

I was super cautious with vaccinating my kids, but even our allergy specialist said to definitely do the MMR.

He said for each vaccine, we needed to look at how well it had been tested in actual use and how dangerous, treatable, and prevalent the disease(s) were.

As I understand it, measles, mumps and rubella are all highly contagious viruses which are more dangerous the later in life you catch them. In adult men, I’ve heard mumps can cause sterility.

Our doctor’s only recommendation for the MMR was to make sure the kids had had their egg allergy vaccine shots shortly before they were vaccinated, because the serum was made in eggs. They all did fine.

2020_02 29 receipt

GRAMMY NOTES: I had a good laugh at my own expense this morning Mama Buzz sent me a photo of her USPS receipt so I would have the tracking number and estimated arrival date for the package she just sent us. I looked at the photo before I read the attached message and thought it was one of those internet “gotta see it to believe it” things. I mean … why would anyone spend more than $20 to not just mail, but also insure four bucks worth of bubble wrap?! Then I clicked over to read the accompanying text message. She bought us each a new cell phone! Sweet Mama. Silly Grammy.
