AOC: Sandy has her panties in a bunch over an increasingly popular Twitter account called “Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Press Release (parody)” @ https://twitter.com/AOCpress. To be fair, the name is so long that, when the tweets appear on a small screen, the “parody” part is hidden; mayhaps a little rule that satire and parody accounts should put those words first would be a good idea. Just sayin’.

But whatEVER, as AOC would say! I just want to take a moment here to enjoy her oh-so-predictable response: “FYI there’s a fake account on here impersonating me and going viral. The Twitter CEO has engaged it, boosting visibility. It is releasing false policy statements and gaining spread. I am assessing with my team how to move forward. In the meantime, be careful of what you see.”

IOW, she and her team are worried that the parody account is being taken seriously and mistaken for the real AOC. And for good reason. A lot of the AOCpress tweets sound so much like the real AOC that it’s hard to find the parody.

E.g., “Printing money is the only way out of inflation.” “White people are literally holding our economy hostage by owning guns.” “Not just women! Trans men & non-binary people can also menstruate.” “Boycotting Target over the sale of LGBT products for children isn’t only bigotry but online terrorism.” I mean … aren’t these things she herself has said or would say?

AOCpress has posted a string of funny responses to real AOC’s consternation most of which sound just like what real AOC herself would say! LOL

E.g., “I can’t believe someone would do that to us.” “Making fun of someone as important as me should never be allowed in a free society.” “I’m having my staff report every single tweet that makes fun of me to the DOJ.” “If @elonmusk wants to have a chance with me, he’ll immediately ban the parody account of me. This is like literally not funny.” “After brainstorming with my staff – I’m going to push Congress to make it illegal to joke, laugh, or make fun of me.”

GET WOKE: Bud Light sales have dropped by 29.5% and Target has lost billions in market capitalization. Next up on the “we’re not going to take it any more” hit parade … Kohl’s (selling pride-themed clothing for babies and toddlers) and PetSmart (selling pride-themed pet products). PetSmart has also announced they plan to donate $200,000 to GLSEN, an LGBTQ advocacy group that pressures school districts to not tell parents if their children jump on the trans wagon.

TRANS: British Cycling has made some new rules to deal with the rise of trannies in sports. Instead of male and female categories, there will now be a women category (for natural born females who have not taken testosterone) and an open category (for everybody else). This policy change follows the one taken by World Aquatics last year.

GRAMMY NOTES: I have loved line-and-wash for a long time, but couldn’t seem to do it justice. Today, I watched a wonderful YouTube tutorial called 5 mistakes Beginners make in Line and Wash by Camilla Damsbro, in which she nailed my two worst problems. #1 Clutching my liner pen and #2 Coloring inside the lines. I just did this lizard, focusing on a loose hand while I was sketching and not too perfect glazes while I was watercoloring. It not only turned out beautifully, but I had so much FUN doing it! I am Over The Moon about this! LOL
