GALLUP: The portion of Americans who identify as very conservative or conservative on social issues (36%) is the highest since 2010. Meanwhile, the portion that identify as very liberal or liberal (29%) has dropped to its 2011 level, which at the time was the highest since Gallup began asking the question. The portion identifying as moderate remains near a third (31%).
The breakdown by party (shown above) reveals that while Democrats haven’t changed much (maybe owing to their commitment to leftstream media), Independents and Republicans have shifted toward being more conservative.

Now about alleged extraterrestrials, my 2¢.
‘Way back in the early 70s, I read a huge amount of SF, and I recall this one story…. I don’t remember the author or the story, but it went like this (spoilers): One day ET ships fill the skies world-wide. As a consequence, world peace and tech advancement, but nobody ever actually saw the ETs themselves until something like centuries later, they came out, and it was easy to see why they’d been hiding, what with the pointy tails and the horns. IIRC, they were benign, but diabolical looking. Like Spock. 🖖 Interesting simple story twist, or diabolical propaganda? I took it as the former.
I have no idea whether the phenomena are ET, spirits, interdimensional tourists, or what. I don’t buy anything they’re selling about the ET corpses in Area 51 or spaceships falling on Las Vegas. I suspect mostly there’s a variety of sources, from natural ball lightning to mass hallucinations. Probably those more often than real ETs or demons.
It is funny to think about a civilization from some distant star, able to traverse light-year distances, fly around us defying all laws of physics as we understand them, yet have breakdowns and crashes with no ET tow trucks to help. Did they buy their spaceships from Italy or something?

The wiki summary of the book’s end made me feel okay about not remembering the rest. Seemed spiritually pointless (like a lot of SF) – like the acid trip in 2001. [heh]
My one-and-only SF short story postulated reptilian-avian type mortals who think that’s the only way intelligent, God-loving life can appear, until they find a world with “lesser” species (mammalian) as the intelligent beings, causing profound societal and theological tensions.
Just as we expect the laws of gravity and physics to be the same everywhere, so have I always assumed that if there is life abundant in the universe, the appearance of life, mindedness, self-awareness and accompanying Deity-awareness are all just as inherent in the system as the physical. What with it all being Our Father’s domain, and all.

The laws of physics are an entirely different kind of thing than intelligence and free will. I’m going to post a blog with the evidence I’ve looked at that has convinced me that, apart from angels, we are the only intelligent beings with free will that God ever created and that aliens are demons.
