Belated congratulations on your 45th. Y’all sure were cute.
So were MiladyJo and I, once. (haha)
This just-past Oct 1 was the anniversary of my driving over to Ponca City at 7am to pick up MJ at the train station. I didn’t even know the train stopped in Oklahoma. She was coming for a visit before going on to see her sister in Colorado, but forgot to leave. That was fifty years ago.
Although we didn’t get married for six long years. It was the 70s and we were wild and unwise. As I’ve said before kids, don’t shack up, it makes for confusing anniversaries.
We had some hard years initially, but both thank the Lord every day that we still have each other. There’s a lot of things I lament having done and not done in our lives, but if we’d done things differently, no way to say it would have ended up better. Anyway, the only way I could’ve known better back then is if I’d had the experiences I’ve had since, right? 😛

<3. When I was a teen, my mother told me something that made me commit to being a virgin on my wedding night. More than anything, I wanted a GOOD marriage, so this bit of wisdom lit up my life.
"The first year of marriage is the hardest and the first year of sex is the most fun. I don't know how a couple gets through the first if they've already used up the second."
