CANNABIS: A new study entitled “Key insights into cannabis-cancer pathobiology and genotoxicity” was published last week in Addiction Biology.” It reports on research done at the University of Western Australia that found exposure to cannabis associated with birth defects and a range of cancers – breast, pancreatic, liver, thyroid, testicular and lymphoma – that develop quickly and are more aggressive than the usual. They also found that cannabis use could cause DNA mutations that could be passed on to children. Recreational marijuana use is legal in 24 states, 3 U.S. territories and the District of Columbia.

WASHINGTON: Olympus Spa has lost its appeal to the 9^th Circuit Court. The spa took to the courts to fight Washington State’s requirement that biologically intact males be permitted in the women’s-only, nude spaces. Ninth Circuit Court Judge M. Margaret McKeown, a Clinton appointee, ruled the spa’s policy to be equivalent to a “whites only” rule.
