1A: [6:23] – The fight to protect our First Amendment rights continues. In 2018, during the first Trump administration, rules were created allowing employers with religious and/or moral objections to opt out of the Affordable Care Act’s requirement to cover abortion and contraceptives. On August 13, Judge Wendy Beetlestone of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania declared these rules to be arbitrary and capricious, and in violation of federal law.

Mark Rienzi, president of Becket, a nonprofit, public interest legal institute said,“The Little Sisters [of the Poor] might need yet another trip to the Supreme Court to end what has now been more than a dozen years of litigation over the same issue. We will fight as far as we need to fight to protect the Little Sisters’ right to care for the elderly in peace.”

The Little Sisters of the Poor was established in France in 1839 by Saint Jeanne Jugan to care for the elderly poor. There are currently about 2,372 sisters working in 31 countries on five continents.

DISTRICT of COLUMBIA: [2:23] – On Wednesday, residents of the homeless encampment between the Kennedy Center and Lincoln Memorial were notified they had to move. Volunteers helped gather belongings and the city made shelter and storage options available. On Thursday, city crews cleared out everything that was left behind.

SOUTH CAROLINA: William Mullins McLeod, Jr. (53) just announced he is running for the Democratic nomination for governor. So far, he is the only Democrat to enter the race. Incredibly, just three short months ago, McLeod was found walking outside, in his underwear and screaming incoherently. He was later charged with public disorderly conduct and released on a personal recognizance bond.

GRAMMY NOTES: The Catholic Church does not have a doctrine about the Rapture, but Jesus Himself told us it will happen.

Matthew 24: “30 Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth[will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory. 31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other. … 40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.”

I have been told this refers to Final Judgment, but it doesn’t fit. Matthew 25: “31 When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.” In the first, angels go out and gather the elect; in the second, all the nations are gathered.

I believe that, as Jesus’s Resurrection was our model for those who have died in Christ before the Rapture and will rise in their glorified bodies, while Mary’s Assumption was our model for the rapture of those who will still be alive and will be changed. 1 Cor 15: “52 In a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed.”

I also believe that when the Raptured gather, the Protestants will be saying, “We were RIGHT about the Rapture.” And the Catholics will high five and say, “Yes! And Mary was the first!“

    The “Trump says he will forcefully remove DC homeless” video should be read with your “Real D.C.” post. For the nation’s capitol, of all places, to be like this is horrible.

    That wacky Barnhardt lady, for the Assumption Feast, reposted her article, The SCIENCE of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into heaven. I guess I’m a non-Marian non-Catholic, but I greatly enjoy her logic on this.
