AMERICAN HISTORY: On April 3, 1865, Union forces entered Richmond, Virginia, the capital of the Confederacy, following their breakthrough at Petersburg. The fall of the city marked the collapse of the South’s political center and signaled that the Civil War’s end was close at hand.
BONDI: On April 2, President Trump announced Pam Bondi is leaving the post of U.S. attorney general. Her deputy, Todd Blanche, will temporarily serve as acting attorney general. Trump said, “We love Pam, and she will be transitioning to a much needed and important new job in the private sector, to be announced at a date in the near future.”

FACT #1: The birth certificate is a historical record of a person’s name at birth; it does not change after marriage. The marriage certificate is used to update Social Security card, driver’s license or state ID, passport, bank accounts, etc.
FACT #2: The SAVE Act only requires proof of citizenship upon registration. It will not impact registered voters unless they move or change their names. At that point, either a birth certificate with a proof of legal name change (e.g., marriage certificate) will suffice. These are the same documents you need to get a passport, so a passport would also be acceptable.

NASA: For the first time in more than half a century, people around the world can look to the sky and know somewhere up there a crew of astronauts is on its way to the Moon. One hopes the crew was chosen because they were the best of the best, but looking at their photos, I gotta wonder if HR didn’t consider diversity when choosing the final crew. Three of the them are Americans, including NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman (white male commander), Victor Glover, Jr. (black male pilot), and Christina Koch (white female mission specialist). The fourth is a Canadian Space Agency astronaut named Jeremy Hansen (white male mission specialist).
