As I understand it, our law enforcement agencies are forbidden to prosecute illegals, but must turn them over the immigration.  ICE takes them to the border where they wave bye-bye for the ten minutes it takes the thugs to move to one of the oh-so-secure areas of our border where they can cross right back over … and continue whatever felonious activity they were “deported” for in the first place.

April 12-13, 2013: On the night of her arrest (around midnight), Lehmberg’s blood alcohol (.23) was nearly three times the legal level. Her smug belligerence really makes me wonder what kind of dirt she has on which prominent Democrats, KWIM?

She pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 45 days in jail, fined $4,000 and lost her driver’s license.

In Texas, the district attorney is the county’s lead law enforcement officer, and the Travis County District Attorney has the additional responsibility of prosecuting public crimes under the Public Integrity Unit, leading to a loud outcry for Lehmberg’s resignation from lawmakers and public safety groups. She refused to resign.

The Texas Local Government Code, in Chapter 87, allows public officials like district attorneys to be removed from office for “incompetency, official misconduct, habitual drunkenness, or other causes defined by law.” The 1987 revision to the law added a single incidence of intoxication on or off duty as a potential cause for removal.

However, because Lehmberg is a Democrat, elected in Travis County, one of the most Democratic-heavy areas of the state, and Governor Rick Perry, a Republican, would be able to pick her replacement, other Democrats quickly rallied to her defense.

That’s Democrats for you.  Never mind that she’s a flaming alcoholic who is a menace to herself and society. She’s a DEMOCRAT!  Politics trumps public safety ever time.

Frustrated with Lehmberg’s refusal to resign and maintaining his position that someone who had committed her offenses was not fit for office, either as the district attorney or as head of the Public Integrity Unit, Perry then announced plans to veto funding for the Public Integrity Unit unless Lehmberg resigned.

Texas law clearly grants the governor the power to veto funding for the Public Integrity Unit and many other agencies, but Democrats supporting Lehmberg howled and moved to punish the uppity governor by charging him with two felonies!

August 15, 2014: A grand jury indicted Texas Gov. Rick Perry on charges of abuse of official capacity, a first-degree felony with potential punishments of five to 99 years in prison, and coercion of a public servant, a third-degree felony that carries a punishment of two to 10 years.

No one quibbles that Perry had the right to veto the funding when the legislation crossed his desk. The case is about whether he abused his office when he threatened to veto in an attempt to get Lehmberg to step down.

The criminal investigation could mar Republican Perry’s political prospects as he mulls another run at the White House in 2016, which no doubt fueled the self-righteous fires of the Democrats For the Defense of Drunken District Attorneys who prosecuted him.

I posted a link yesterday about the shooting of Michael Brown and subsequent riots in Ferguson Missouri Saturday. The facts have not come out yet,but facts don’t matter when the opportunity for criminality presents itself. A candlelight vigil degraded into rioting and looting. Sunday night a mall was targeted by the thieves,but was stopped by a large police presence with tanks and riot gear. I saw a tweet that said like: ‘when you crash the mall,hit the Apple store and grab me some Ipads and Iphones,ni**a.’

As predictable as sunrise and leftist hypocrisy I’ve come across these in semi- chronological order:

The ad that went backwards

This ad was supposed to promote anti-gun legislation. What it actually did was give women a vivid demonstration of why they need to arm themselves.

And guess what? The gals agree. An article at the New York Times says,

“In the debate over firearms regulations, the voices of gun owners have largely been those of men. But at firing ranges across the country, a growing number of women are learning to use firearms and honing their skills.

“Women’s participation in shooting sports has surged over the last decade, increasing by 51.5 percent for target shooting from 2001 to 2011, to just over 5 million women, and by 41.8 percent for hunting, according to the National Sporting Goods Association.

“Gun sales to women have risen in concert. In a survey last year by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, 73 percent of gun dealers said the number of female customers had gone up in 2011, as had a majority of retailers surveyed in the two previous years.”

I feel sorry for satirists.  I really do.  How could they possibly top what is happening in the real world these days? The latest … bowing to the shrill demands of Leftie activists, Target painted a target on its stores, employees and customers. As expected by those who are not stupid, Target customers were promptly hit by armed felons.

On July 2, 2014, Target’s CEO published a “respectful request” in the store’s online magazine – “A Bullseye View” – that customers leave their guns at home when they visit Target. According to him, people carrying firearms “creates an environment that is at odds with the family friendly shopping and work experience.” Naturally, the Leftie solution to this is to turn Target into a place where armed thugs feel comfie cozy. 

Within 5 days of Target’s lame-brained announcement, a man was robbed at gunpoint in a Target parking lot and a woman had her purse and car jacked in another Target parking lot. The latter also got punched in the head, knocked to the ground, and nearly run over by her own car.

  • Nine months after posting an anti-guns policy, Taco Mac was robbed. It was the first in their 29 years in business.
  • One month after posting an anti-gun policy, Jack in the Box was robbed in four locations and one man was shot.
  • Five days after posting an ant-gun policy, Target was robbed twice.  Are we seeing a pattern?

Who is behind these dim-witted exercises in political correctness?

Jerry Henry, the executive director of GeorgiaCarry.org, believes it’s two anti-gun activist groups:
Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America and Mayors Against Illegal Guns (except they’re against legal guns also).

Both groups are backed by former New York Mayor Michael “Nanny” Bloomberg, a Leftie hypocrite who never goes anywhere without a well-armed escort and who infamously (and unsuccessfully) tried to ban the sale of 16-ounce soft drinks.

Henry said these “gun-free zones” should actually “be called victim-enrichment zones because that’s what they are. If anyone wants to commit a crime with impunity, take your gun where there are no guns. You can do what you want, get in and get out and there’s nobody to stop you.

“If you notice where most of the so-called mass shootings are happening, they’re in gun-free zones,” Henry continued. “You don’t see them at gun shows or at gun stores. You don’t see people walk in there and start shooting. They’re not going to do it because they know everybody in there is armed.”

Setting the record straight

On Friday, May 23, 2014, 22-year-old Elliot Rodger murdered six people in Isla Vista, California.

  • He STABBED three young men to death inside his apartment – Cheng Yuan Hong (20), Weihan Wang (20), and George Chen (19).
  • He SHOT one young man – Christopher Michael-Martinez (20) – inside a deli and two young women – Katie Cooper (22) and Veronika Weiss (19) on the street.

Those ever-ready to grab at a tragedy headline to score political points have been pushing the usual array of fact-challenged memes.

MYTH: It was a hate crime against WOMEN.
FACT: Four of his six victims were MALE.

MYTH: Rodger was a typical, overly-entitled WHITE dude.
FACT: Rodger was half-ASIAN.

MYTH: Rodger was an NRA nut who used GUNS to slaughter the innocent.
FACT: He killed his first three victims with a KNIFE.

MYTH: Rodger was a CHRISTIAN.
FACT: His manifesto is filled with HATRED, not religion. For example, he wrote that he planned to kill his little brother so as to deny “him of the chance to grow up to surpass me” and his stepmother, because “she will be in the way.”  He also planned to run down his “enemies” with his SUV, “shooting anyone I don’t splatter.”  “I will punish everyone. And it will be beautiful. Finally, at long last, I can show the world my true worth.”

MYTH: Rodger was a RIGHT-winger.
FACT: He subscribed to a LEFT-wing, liberal/progressive political and social commentary YouTube channel called The Young Turks.

MYTH: Rodger hated ALPHA MALES who got the girls who rejected him.
FACT: Based on the photos, at least two of the male victims were GEEKS.
