Halloween Hood Ornaments

The Daily Caller had a little amusing commentary on Joe Scarborough’s (co-host of PMSNBC’s show “Morning Joe”) recent Instagram photo showing him with his 1969 Ford Bronco. I’m not sure which is more frightening, the Bronco, his Izod shirt, the orange pants or his black dress shoes. At least his Bronco is in better shape than my mom’s 1969 Ford Fairlane, which rusted into a pile of debris in the driveway and had to be shoveled into the trash. In 1971.

Personally, I think he was channeling Hillary and her pumpkin pantsuits, modeled here in front of a sweet 1986 Yugo.

Don’t think Rachel Madcow doesn’t have a nice, seasonal ride, as well. Wait, is her Pinto on fire?? No, it’s ok. It’s just orange.

And we know Barack prefers 2-wheelers.

Shana Tova!

Today is Rosh Hashana, the Jewish New Year. The traditional greeting – Shana Tova – means “good year.” It is pronounced shah NA toh VAH.  Hear it pronounced @ http://www.forvo.com/word/shana_tova/.  Happy New Year and Happy Rosh Hashana work just as well. 🙂

2014_09-10 Tishri 5775 Calendar

Today is also the beginning of HY 5775, which is a Shemitah (or Sabbath) Year during which God commanded the Jews to leave the land fallow and trust in His providence for their needs. On the last day of a Shemitah Year, Elul 29, all debts are forgiven.  This year, Elul 29 will fall on Sept 13, 2015.

Pastor Cahn, who is a Messianic Jew, believes the Shemitahs of the 21st century have prophetic significance. He explains this in his books, The Harbinger and The Mystery of the Shemitah.

Read here about Shemitah and Pastor Cahn’s work

‘Shemitah’ starts at sundown: Are you ready?

I also believe 5775 has prophetic significance, not only because I think Cahn’s arguments are compelling, but also because I see God speaking prophetically through Mary at Fatima, Garabandal and Medjugorje.

I have written before about my theory that Mary’s daily appearances at Medjugorje are retracing her son’s First Coming in preparation for His Second Coming. I have lined up evidence from the Bible, from the Jewish-Roman calendars, and from sky charts to demonstrate that the Medjugorje Anniversaries of the Crucifixion, Resurrection and Ascension fall in HY 5775, during CE 2015.

I have found the symbolism of these numbers significant, because 1 is God, 2 is Jesus, 5 is Mary, 7 is completeness. I see in 5775 and 2015 a message about the First Coming (57 and 2) when God chose Mary to bear and raise His Only Son and of the Second Coming (75 and 15) when, among other things, Jesus will reveal to the whole world in an overt and unmistakable way that His Blessed Mother is the Ark of the Covenant and the Queen of Heaven.

CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY

Posted by PP

To whom it may concern:
This is the day we celebrate our independence from tyranny. Savor it. It’s coming to an end.
The gay pride flag and the Mexican flag will fly alongside Old Glory soon,in the name of almighty diversity.
Your children and children’s children will be taught that this is the day that white Europeans officialy stole land rightfully belonging to minorities and brought in slaves to enrich themselves and became the bullies of the world.
I hate to sound like an Eeyore but I’m just being pragmatic. I have seen nothing to give me hope that things will ever get better. As conservatives we face an adversarial media, educational system, the democrat party and republican elites who have insulated themselves against their base with tons of corporate money. The other side will do anything to win; our side doesn’t seem to care anymore, if it ever truly did.
We are being invaded by massive swarms of low income, low educated people to put an unsustainable drag on our welfare system and there is nothing we can do to stop it. One party wants the votes to continue in power in perpetuity and the other is being financed by corporate entities who want a continuous influx of cheap labor. All the sacrifices that have been made the last 238 years are being stolen because too many people stood by and did nothing.

I have posted a few of my favorite patriotic videos if anybody cared.

On This Day in 1776
On this day in 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed and the door to the United States of America opened even wider. Nobler pens than mine have graced this event with prose, but I think it is worthwhile to reflect that however impossible the American Dream might seem to us today, it seemed a great deal less plausible to the Founding Fathers then. I defer to John Adams, who penned the following letter (shown here in part) to his wife, Abigail, describing the tumultuous events he helped orchestrate

PETE’S PAGE; LEST WE FORGET

Posted by Pistol Pete

It is at times like this I wish I possessed the God-given rhetorical skills to convey the depth of admiration and awe I hold our patriots in uniform in. What makes a person volunteer  to go through months of training and hardship that would break the will of most of us to do perform a duty that can put them in grave danger for pitifully small pay? They don’t do it for the money. That’s the part most liberals can’t understand. Theirs is a calling higher than merely what can I get while giving little or nothing?

Not to be underestimated are the families who go through day after day not knowing where or even how their loved ones are. They mark the days off on a calendar until they can once again throw their arms around their hero, see them hug the baby that was born while he was away, and the dogs going crazy because their beloved master has returned.

This day is dedicated to the millions of wives, parents and siblings that have looked out the window to see two uniformed officers coming up the walkway. Her throat hardens, her eyes start burning and she can’t speak because she knows why they’re there. ‘With sincerest regrets’…the rest is lost forever. He’s lost forever, doing what he thought was right. A gold star,a neatly folded tri-corner flag and a headstone are all that remains other than the heartfelt gratitude of all freedom-loving Americans.

It is a poverty that such noble warriors as these are now under the command of an incompetent shyster that can scarcely contain his scorn for the very military he uses as props for his own benefit then allows them to be treated shabbily by the administration whose function it purportedly is to bind up their wounds and make them as whole as possible. They paid for their medical care…in advance. That people who come across our border illegally to get what our soldiers have sacrificed for while they are made to wait until they die is beyond a national disgrace.

The battle against evil never ends. The assault on our freedoms by those who would take them from us is constant and we must never give up hope. To do so would be a betrayal of all that have preserved this precious gift with all they had. Tomorrow will come soon enough. For at least this one day let us reflect on all that we have…and who made it possible.

Culture Challenge of the Week: The Good in “Good Friday”

http://townhall.com/columnists/rebeccahagelin/2014/04/17/culture-challenge-of-the-week-the-good-in-good-friday-n1825579

Darkness fell across the land and the man they thought would be their savior cried out in a loud voice, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Soon after, he breathed his last.

The people standing at the foot of the cross beat their breasts and stumbled away. From a distance, his mother and friends watched in silent despair.

His disciples were broken in spirit—no doubt confused, hurting and angry. They had followed this man for years, left their work and their families for him. They thought he would change everything. But in the course of one day, all of their hopes were dashed.

They all felt the sting of betrayal when Judas brought the soldiers to the garden to arrest Jesus. Later, Peter anguished at the darkness of his own heart after he denied his closest friend. Their miracle-worker kept still as he was accused, remained silent as he was beaten, and carried his own cross. They heard the crowd mocking him, telling him to save himself, and his followers swelled with anticipation waiting to see him do it. Surely, he would. But instead, he gave up his spirit.

How many times have you felt the sting of betrayal in your own life? How long have you been haunted by your own conscience? How often are you consumed by bitter disappointment? How easily confused are you when things don’t go according to plan? Is there no justice in this world?

How are we ever to believe the promise in Romans that “all things work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose?” Does it really mean all things? Our own sin, injustice, even death itself?

The world has never seen a graver injustice than the death of Jesus. The only man who lived without sin of any kind was tortured and crucified. As the Prince of Peace suffered, the adversary rejoiced in his sickening, preverted understanding of victory.

Yet what seemed like victory for the powers of darkness, God used for the salvation of all mankind. What seemed like sure defeat was the greatest gain.

I love St. Patrick. I hate St. Paddy’s Day.

I’m 50% Irish, 100% Roman Catholic, and a Die Hard March 17th Grinch.  I don’t mean this to disrespect those of you who enjoy the day.  Last year, I just held my tongue cuz I also hate Political Correctness and all that “wahh I’m a victim” crap.  But damn.  This year, I want to say my piece … just this once.

SPECIAL APOLOGIES TO PISTOL PETE. I am not, Not, NOT bothered about your St. Paddy’s day post … or anyone else’s for that matter.

Happy casual racism day

St. Patrick was a holy man who brought the Light of Christ to the Irish people who then contributed enormously to preserving civilization during the Dark Ages.

Did you know Patrick wasn’t even born in Ireland? When he was a teen-ager, he was kidnapped from his home in Britain by raiders who sold him into slavery in Ireland.  During his years in captivity, he learned the Irish language and customs. Years later, he escaped from his owner, made his way back to Britain and entered the priesthood. Ultimately, he returned to the land where he’d been enslaved in order to bring those he saw as the true slaves the truth about freedom in Jesus Christ.

If any of this is ringing any bells for you … try to imagine if Martin Luther King Day was celebrated primarily by Americans painting themselves up with black face make-up and hosting drunken parties featuring watermelon and fried chicken?

PETE’S PAGE; ST. PADDY’S DAY EDITION

Posted by Pistol Pete

After my granddad retired, granny got so irritated having him underfoot when she was trying to do her housework, she advised him to find something to do or the consquences would be dire. He got a part-time job at a place called O’Keefe’s Tavern. He recalled how St. Patrick’s Day was like Christmas,New Years and July 4th rolled into one. Free corned beef and green beer can do that. They had a moose head that hung on the wall some 12 feet in the air. It disappeared once and ended up being returned after somebody sobered up and figured out where it came from. Fortunately we Swedes are a bit more reserved.

Mascot Update: Mama Buzz gets crafty

March 4, 2014: Mama Buzz finished a Lent-Easter wreath just in time for Ash Wednesday. Purple and white ribbons for Lent and Easter. Purple succulent cactus for Jesus in the desert and fasting during Lent. Big white flower for Jesus, Risen Lord; it has some pink in the center for blood. The white sprays of flowers represent His gift of life for all.
