According to a recent Harvard-Harris Mark Penn poll, a majority of Americans AND A MAJORITY OF DEMOCRATS disapprove of the idea of abolishing ICE. Overall, 69% disapprove vs. 31% approve. This is THE BEST piece I’ve seen. Definitely watch if you have any free time at all.

“The border crisis is not new. Children have been dragged across the dangerous desert terrain by their parents — or smugglers — for years, and no one seemed to care. Brandon Darby, who has covered border horror stories since long before it was fashionable (i.e., the Obama years) joins Jon Miller to discuss what’s really going on.”

This week, TIME used a photo of a child who had not actually been separated from her illegal mother to slam President Trump. But photos like the one I used for my photoshop below, that have been circulating the internet to condemn Trump, were actually taken while Obama was in office. I don’t read TIME, so maybe I missed their version of my photoshopped cover. But I doubt it.

I know this is CNN, but the Border Patrol guy does a good job talking about the deadly horrors migrant children are forced to experience because of THEIR PARENTS (or others who use and abuse them) taking or sending them across the border illegally.

On Tuesday, Democrats rejected a bill that would keep illegal immigrant families together on the border.

On Wednesday, Trump signed an Executive Order to help solve the problem of kids being separated from their legitimate parents. But he said he will not end the administration’s “zero tolerance” policy of criminally prosecuting every adult who crosses U.S. borders illegally and intends to keep pressure on Congress to pass legislation that meets his goals of halting the separation practice, funding his proposed border wall, and limiting legal immigration. Yesterday, President Trump called for Democrats to get their thumbs out and help FIX the immigration mess. Today, I got this email from Catholic Vote.

CONTEXT AND FACTS:

The southern border of the United States is a mess. Our laws are outdated, and the enforcement of these laws has been chaotic, inconsistent, and unpredictable for decades. As a result, the current system is often inhumane. Like we said, this mess didn’t start with President Trump.

During the Obama administration, immigration laws were selectively enforced, sending mixed signals to those seeking to enter the U.S. The practice of “catch-and-release” created a magnet for illegal immigration, including phony claims of asylum, and even human traffickers posing as parents of smuggled children. In some cases, the Obama Administration also separated children from their parents, improperly vetted host families, and much worse. The lack of coherent enforcement worsened the humanitarian crisis, which traffickers and cartels exploited. According to even the ACLU, “the border control under Obama was monstrous.” Continue reading →
