I’m not sure I’m liking the new background color – it’s hard on these old eyes so early in the morning. But I love the Baby Buzz space! Can hardly wait for updates from Chrissy.
Just heard that Rick Santelli will be on Meet the Press this Sunday – that might be very interesting.
Good morning, POLINATORS!
I’m with you Auntie Lib, I think I need the white background so I can read the text.
If you haven’t already yet, hop on over the bob’s blog (bluebird of bitterness). It’s really good!
I’ve been so busy this week. I’m ready for a relaxing day today. My daughter went crazy, possibly because of the full moon, and wouldn’t nap at all yesterday, even when we went for a car ride. I put her to bed at 7pm last night and it’s almost 8am here – that’s 13 hours of sleep for her! I’m pretty sure that’s a first.
Well, I’m off to see if there are any interesting newstories out there. Did anyone else watch Chris Christie’s speech the other day? It was fantastic!
Good morning PoliNators! I do agree that the text is a bit hard to read. Maybe if the text was changed to a lighter color it would help.
Wish I had time to address the thuggery going on amongst the so called protesters in Wisconsin. Some of their signs are just awful! They should fire all the teachers that refused to show up for their jobs. It should also be illegal for teachers to drag their students off to these protests. If that was my child I would be furious! But, I have my daughter’s birthday party tomorrow and will be spending most of the day getting everything ready for the party.
Good morning all. I’m not a big fan of light print on dark background either, but overall, the original theme color had a softer feel in that garden-y sort of way 🙂 When Newsbird switched her colors she lost a few bloggers due to vision problems with the contrast. I think Chrissy was one of them 😦
Okay, I managed to figure out how to change things back to white. We may have a blue, no pink! scene from Sleeping Beauty between me and the other good fairy who wants it brown. 😀
That was really good. I had a professor in college who had been a high school teacher as well. Something she said about teacher’s unions really impacted me. At that time in Missouri, you had two options of which union to join, one that would strike, and one that wouldn’t strike. She said if you are in it for the kids, you’ll never strike. I was a liberal back then, but I knew she was right. If you are doing it for the paycheck and the benefits, you’ll strike. The sad thing is that the peer pressure to strike is enourmous, and I’ll bet that some of those teachers who are striking wouldn’t normally if everyone else wasn’t doing it. Who wants to be called a scab?
So true! Look what happened to FtN when she was working at a hospital where the nurses were unionized — they decided to strike, she declined to participate (BECAUSE SHE CARED ABOUT THE PATIENTS — imagine that!), and she had to cross picket lines to get to work so someone would actually be there to help women who were about to give birth. Good thing at least one nurse had the guts to resist peer pressure, huh?
Good morning, Everyone!

I agree on the background color. It was easier to read before.

The brown looked pretty — it was just difficult to read, at least for elderly readers like me.

I like the brown, too, I thought it was cozy. But I agree that black on white is much easier on the eyes.

Sometimes you have to sacrifice style for comfort (and in this case, legibility).
