I still remember sitting on the porch, feeling all forlorn about being “too little” to join in the neighborhood street games my older sibs enjoyed. Today, I learned that they were heroically protecting me from desperately dangerous games! Phew! Thanks, guys!

Glad these folks weren’t around when I was a kid — I spent my childhood climbing trees and riding my bike without a helmet… not to mention riding on the tailgate of my parents’ station wagon, or in the back of a pickup truck! I also played kickball, hotbox, tag, whiffle ball, softball, dodgeball, and red rover with the neighborhood kids. Can’t believe I lived to tell the tale!
